david hershkowitz, long time friend of my mother and myself, has cancer that metastasized rapidly in the past few weeks. he is comatose at home with hospice.
my mother says he looks relaxed.
Prayers for David and his loved ones.
Prayers up.
May the God of Abraham and the angels of the Lord that watch over his treasured ones give strength and comfort to David, his family and friends.
And may the good man know the peace that passes all understanding!
There is a little old lady who lives in a bed. She is dying, but she worried about me. She said I looked sad, so she gave me a slip of paper. It said:
TODAY
My life is a gift of God
Given, not in years
but a day at a time
Today is the day the Lord
has made for me
and He planned it to be
the most important day of my life
Yesterday is gone
Never to return
I must not worry about it
but leave it in the hands of God
Each day, arranged by God
with infinite wisdom and goodness
is His gift
His act of love for me
In thanksgiving
I will offer Him every day
the gift of myself
my prayers, works, joys and suffering
Dear lord,
receive them graciously
Amen
Just said a prayer for David, his family and every body involved. Praying for confort and peace from our Lord Jesus, amen.
Prayers are up
Prayers for his comforting.
Prayers for your friend, your mother, you - and for all those who know and love David.
May God be very close to him at this time, may His Holy Spirit, the great Comforter, be with your mother, with you, and with him as perhaps he crosses that dark valley into a very bright, whole, joyous future with the Lord Jesus.
(A friend in my church just made this journey this morning - had been in a coma at home with Hospice. So grateful are we that his sufferings are over....that he is home with the Lord...but he will be missed so much...so thoughts and prayers with you and your mom and with David).
Prayers for David and his family.
May they all be at peace.
God bless you all.
May the lord bless his soul in heaven upon the release of his mortal body. Amen
Thank you all for your prayers, and thanks to all who gave their offerings in silence. David died Thursday morning, at peace. My mother was there, along with David’s daughter and son, and some very kind people from the hospice.
Mom was obviously kept busy with everything going on there, and I left a couple of messages to tell her that I love her and I was worried about her. I just finished a good conversation with her for about an hour and half on the phone. She was doing well. She told me that the day after he died, she was by herself and she was overcome by a feeling of love, and the knowledge that David is at peace and with God.
I know this feeling from my own brother’s death. As much as I reach for science and reason in my life, I know in my heart that God loves us and we are never alone. Thank you again, my FRiends. Thank you, Lord. Each day is truly a gift.
So sorry for the loss of your friend but so glad he was at peace and that your mom had that good conversation with you. God’s presence at these times, with His enfolding arms of love, truly hold us in ways we can’t really explain but just know it’s true! God bless you and your mom and your friend’s loved ones. And God rest his dear soul.
You all will still be in my thoughts and prayers.
Separation is never easy, but it will only be for a little while :)
My condolences and prayers to you, your mother and his family on your loss. May he rest in peace.
