In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
a Web site that allows visitors to make changes, contributions, or corrections
Example sentence:
The corporation has designed a wiki to make communication and collaboration simpler and more efficient among its employees worldwide.
Did you know?
Today, wikis are common stops on the information superhighway; however, they only date to 1995, after computer programmer Ward Cunningham introduced his software WikiWikiWeb to the world. The software, whose name is based on a Hawaiian term for "quick," allows Web site visitors to contribute content to its pages and comment on and make changes to information posted by others. A site using the software is referred to as a "wiki."
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Here is my example with today's WFTD.
It is generally accepted that wiki sites like Wikipedia are not reliable as reference sources, but are they any worse than the mainstream news media?

Happy Humpday Everybody!
Only
days left until BO's replacement is sworn in.

Ed "Too Tall" Jones is jumping for joy to remind you that there are:
Only
days until Christmas!
It's about dang time!
Way too much of the four-letter word today. Try not to burn down the classroom.
Only
days until Christmas!
John 3:20 [paraphrased for this thread]
20 For everyone who practices wiki things hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed.
Morning.........
Some spurious quotes on a wiki
Have been used to call Limbaugh a sickie
“He’s a racist, or worse
With the conservative curse”
So the NFL’s PC and picky

I always thought a wiki was a baby wookie... not a made-up word from some corporate imagination.
excellent!!!
MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, have wiki’s that only the White house is allowed to change at a moments notice
That’s a main island of Hawaii, ain’t it?
90 percent of toddlers in Church prefer Cheerios.
Even though it's still early, here is my nomination for the Quote of the Day:
"The federal government in charge of fighting obesity?? The federal government IS obesity!" - Laura Ingraham, 10/14/09.

They’ve captured the gigantic mouth well, but the waist-size and belt placement are a bit flattering.
Why is the belt on the doll placed so low. She wears her belts much higher.
the menacing eyebrows are a nice touch.
I agree...........in the pic of her it looks like it is only a 1/4 of the way down the dress.........hubby showed me an ad in the Sunday paper selling “authentic Michelle Obama glass pearls”............I roARed!
WikiHow taught me how to fix my son’s dislocated shoulder. I just followed the steps and it worked like a champ.
My kiddo loves the new banana nut cheerios and I think they are healthier than Reese’s Puffs.
they downplayed the hip circumference as well.
i rarely buy sugary cereal and i consider all forms of cheerios healthy and not sugary. haven’t seen the banana nut ones. xsteen likes the honeynut cheerios.
I cooked hot breakfasts most days of the week. Cereal and peanut butter toast filled in the other days. I was supermom back in the day. LOL
xsfrosh and i have been following the WeightWatchers plan for the past few months, so i make a hot breakfast of eggs on lowcal bread for her, myself and xshub, each day.
LOL! It makes me think of HI!
That dweeb doesn’t even live in his district.
i know, but that came up as an issue quite awhile ago, so i was surprised to see him quitting now.
i know! if the world doesn’t end, economy doesn’t crash and the creek don’t rise, we are supposed to go to the big island next August!
I cannot express how happy I am to get this weasel out of the House of Reps. The worst moment for me was when we moved here and I realized HE represented me. I was very excited to see that there was actually someone running against him for the coming election. Edward Lynch! I kinda wonder if Lynch is not the real reason Wexler is stepping down. I mean, it’s not usual for a politician to step down in the middle of a term.
it def took me by surprise to see him stepping down, and it made me think there’s something more there for sure.
That was the the prize winnin’ receipt at the annual Atkinsonville Cosmic Gazette cooking contest and Max, who is Germain and has six names and is real smart, said red wine would take care of the doughnut backup that might, I say, might happen.
Max also operates our linotype machine since Louis fell into the back of it and ended up as a bunch of paragraphs on page two. We ate his leftover Krispy Kremes in his honor.
Anyhow I asked Max about this WIKI stuff and he said it might be like wicked but foreign or something. Then he looked in the lumberyard mailorder catalog and found wicker furniture so that’s it.
WIKI is just some bad furniture. And if anyone out there is sent to rehab by Judge Lipscum, it sure isn’t like what they show on the cable t.v.! Electricity and needles!!!! Makes my hands shake something awful to think bout it.
Also, the doll doesn’t look angry enough.
Wiki, wiki, wiki. The DJIA is now over 10,000 twice today!
Yeah I was selling like it was 1929 today.
I found these little round pans that make eggs just the right size for a slice of bread or an english muffin. I got a panini pan to grill them.....yum.
it’s legs are not bowed or spread enough either.......LOL
...and I thought it was a song by Elvis.
I told Neo that it would hit 10,000 by December. That’s usually the buy times for S&P, Nazzie and the Dow. This was not the correct time. Weird.
You really weren’t selling, were you?
Yup. Taking an opportunity to rebalance.
crashproof 2.0 per neo’s suggestion. put $ in precious metals.
Hmmmm, need to call my brother the cop and see what he says about Wexler. I wonder if he wears makeup to hide all the freckles.
Good job.
OK, I thought we’d be back down to 7000 by now but I have the following excuses:
The Fed and its quantitative easing is trashing the dollar, but the down dollar is translating into an UP stock market (of course not when you price the dow in gold)
I’ve been re-balancing towards foreign funds for a while now: their stock markets are up as much or more plus you get the upside of being out of losing currency.
Precious metals and foreign stocks particularly those that are involved in natural resources.
Well, you may make the money you invested this week tomorrow or Friday. It used to be Fridays and Mondays were the days to buy the Big Boys, but I’ve noticed recently that Fridays and Mondays are days to sell.
I can’t emotionally nor intellectually get into the markets right now. It’s as if everything I learned at ten different seminars have washed down the drain. I have to see a pattern. Actually, seven out of ten patterns, kind of like DNA.
