Are you sure these aren’t democrats. I saw a lot of half dressed men with poles.

Wow. Even more chilling in color. Thanks for posting these.

What’s the point? Without context or comment, maybe this post belongs on a Nazi website.

Creepy! These people were insane. The torch light parade is especially chilling in a way that makes my flesh crawl. Wholesale and unconditional affirmation of individuals is, and ought to be, an instantaneous red flag... no matter who is being lionized. Has humanity learned nothing?

It’s history. And it’s fascinating.
I’m afraid I don’t understand your objections, Lonesome. Did you think that posting these pictures somehow glorifies the Nazis?
It didn’t have that effect on me, I’ll tell you for sure. I find the pictures chilling, knowing what they represent, even without captions. Yet, because of the history, also fascinating.

Amen!
The one that makes *my* skin crawl is the picture of the medical office chair — with the metal things to go around the waist. God only knows what they used THAT for. Could be my imagination working overtime, but I found it disturbing.

The context is in the knowing what all these “beautiful” people brought to the world. Their deeds are the context for this pomposity.

“Lonesome” is OK. And typos happen. Way back in ‘98 when Lonesome signed up, they were probably charging by the character for screen names.
If *I* had a nickel for every time I have posted something that I should have thought through better, I’d have a whole pocket full of nickels! :-)

That picture is unreal. Is it possible that the propagandists used the 1940 equivalent of Photoshop techniques to fake the size of the crowd?

NO. I’ve seen pictures like this before. In fact, I have a bunch of Life and Look magazines from the 30’s and 40’s that probably have similar pictures in them.
Those people either loved Hitler or lived in fear of him so gatherings were a ‘must’ - I believe.
We’ve become too suspicious of every picture being photoshopped now days, so we often disregard what is really real.

Clearly, the National Socialists were efficient community organizers. Creepy, and particularly creepy in the context of our recent “mmmm, mmmm, mmmm” indoctrination in public schools.
