I just wanted to warn people thinking of taking their kids to see Miley Cyrus. My daughter took my two grandchildren yesterday to her show in Milwaukee. She received no warnings from Ticket Master when buying the tickets and sure wishes she would have.
Thinking she is a Disney star and with no warnings she was SHOCKED at the show. She told me that her brother opened the show and was disgusting removing clothing and simulating sex acts.
When Miley appeared she told the audience she did a lot of growing up, mind you the audience was filled with kids ranging from 5-10 years old. Then she went on with the show and according to my daughter her act looked like she practiced it on one of those stripper poles.
Parents were looking at one another shaking their heads there was a lot of stunned silence she is very upset with the whole show saying it was disgusting and they should have been warned. The show is certainly not appropriate for the kids so if you know someone who is planning on going you would do well to warn them.
Fans need to leave plenty of feedback to Disney, Miss Cyrus, her father, and her management company whoever they may be... letting them know the money behind her fanbase will removing their support if things don’t change soon.
I guess the same handlers and agents who pushed Britanny Spears into the cathouse has now got a new client, with ultimately the same result.

I am taking my 8 year old daughter to the Miley Cyrus concert. She is so excited to go to her first concert (the Wiggles do not count right?). Obviously I am fine with it. I would prefer the Taylor Swift concert because I think Taylor is a better role model than Miley. But my daughter is too young to read the tabloids to hear the rumors about Miley. As for her attire on stage, its a costume. Its not for school for example.
If you put her name into Google and click images, you will be pretty shocked as well.

As Miley gets older, I guess it was inevitable that she and her handlers want to get rid of the tweenage/young teenager type image.
But do you have to go to the stripper pole to show you have grown into a young woman? I don’t get that part of it.

Unfortunately MOST people will likely not be shocked. Face it, we have a generation of parents who grew up on this stuff and will see nothing wrong with their kids growing up on it. But, thanks for being brave enough to buck the trend.
Some will take their kids because they see nothing wrong with it, and some will take them because they can’t say no.
Her dad and grand dad are both good liberal democrats and I’m sure they’re quite proud of the little whore that Ms. Cyrus is developing into. Save the money and take your kids horseback riding, shooting, etc. They’ll be better off for it.
I think you may regret it my daughter tells me it was literally very raw she is really upset about it all she said it was too bad for my 10 year old grand daughter let alone the other who is 7. Parents were discussing it and they all seemed just as upset as she and it would be one thing if they had been warned but no warning for age at all and she wishes she had never taken them to it.
Thankfully my 10 yr old is so over Miley - she told me “Miley is not a good role model” and it was her conclusion from all the bad publicity lately, not mine. She is now into Selena Gomez, who acts like a young teen pop star and seems “grounded” ...for now

The real problem is that being slutty is being mistaken for being mature. A lot of sophisticated women who don’t dress like whores are called ‘boring prudes’ while women who dress provocatively are considered ‘modern women.’
Kind of reminds me of when Princess Diana first burst on the scene. Well dressed, classy, and then became determined to wear as many backless dresses as possible, showing cleavage, and then wondered why she couldn’t find a decent guy.

I have a rather negative opinion of what’s going on with Miley. Having spent a career in “show business”, my take on it is that Miley is unfortunately not a real physical beauty, and is confronting an industry that places physical attributes over talent every time.
They’re just testing out what’s next to keep her working.
Talent poor, looks not so much = semi/porn or porn to sell the product.

They are portrayed as virginal, sweet little kids...until they reach the age of 18. In Cyrus' case, they got started early on her. The money machine says it's time to go slutty, because there's more money money money in it.

Parents who think this is something new are not very wise.
The master business plan of these young performers are what I call the pulling a Brittany Spears plan, Or more appropriately perhaps the “B.S.” plan
Here is how the plan generally goes...
Step 1: Plan a nice clean goody two shoes initial act or presentation. Something that the parents can trust. And get their kids interested in it. After all its Disney how can Disney possibly be harmless??? And at first of course it is not.
Step 2: Once the child fan base is built up, and the parents let down their guard, the next step is taken. Perhaps a photo or two is released that is a bit more risque, or perhaps the songs will get a bit more “adult”. See some parents won’t take action and pull their kids out at this point because the press always rationalize it as not being “that bad” The kids push their parents because “all of their friends are OK with it”. And the parent and children are pulled further in the direction of total desensitization.
Step 3: The step 2 cycle can be repeated a few times until the performer is old enough to be “on her own”. The press of course aiding and abetting in the ploy all the way.
Step 4: The final step is that once the teen Children are old enough to make their own choices, and that they are separated to a great extent emotionally from their parents by their later teens. At this point then the real shift to the wicked can be done. We all know how far Brittany Spears went, and is sinking even further. And they will take their fan base with them. Parents with young children will to an extent pull away at this point but the fan base that consists of the teens will stick. The people who manage Miley Cyrus KNOW THIS. But by then they have peeled of a generation of mind numbed teens that have been made more desensitized to immorality.
In the end the fan base is built to do to things. Make money for and advance the vanity of the performer. Money and vanity are a dreadful combination.
So you might be wondering how can you protect them from this??? The way to protect them is to raise them in the way that is right, and have them read the Bible and other good books, rather than watch TV including but not limited to Disney. A parent has to control what their children see and hear and read. Not to mention the parent have to pick their childrens freinds.
And for God’s sake don’t let your teen children be alone with someone of the opposite sex ! That’s how babies out of wedlock happen.

Do you remember what happened with disney and the movie ‘powder’? I think that is when disney went downhill and walt disney has to be rolling in his grave.
Says you. As a middle aged father, any music she produces isn't for me. But she can act. The show is tolerable as kids shows go, partly due to her likability. She certainly has more talent than her dad ever had. Time will tell what sort of woman she grows up to be looks wise, but she doesn't match too may people's notion of unattractive.
Yes, but when your daughter is older and understands more about the situation, she will look back and think, “wow, Mom thought that was okay to take an 8-year-old to, so . . .” then she’ll have to draw her own conclusions about the parental judgment you exercised.
You are helping your daughter become an even bigger fan of Cyrus and it won’t be long before she’ll be old enough to pick up on and emulate this pop star.
There are very few “stars” who are worth holding up to little kids as any kind of object of fandom.

I don’t appreciate Babs Streisand’s politics, for example, but I do think she did a good job not trying too very hard to “keep working” just for the sake of “working”-—she did some movies and kept her music going at her pace for her longtime fans. Today she has a No 1 record again. While Britney Spears is totally insane and very likely could go broke.
I think Billy Ray is a conservative - he’s on Fox a lot and toured with Hannity’s last freedom concerts.
