I'm such a nerd, I just got tickets to go see the Star Wars Concert, I couldn't help it I saw preview of it on PBS and it will be here next month. I hope it is cool.
I still have the original movie soundtrack on 8 track tape! Move over.
Call me an uber Geek-ette :-) I am now looking for show times in my area LOL
Are these performed by local symphonies or by a traveling group?
Neener neener neener, I’m going Tuesday!! (but I’m bringing my kids for my nerd cover)
it looked like a touring syphony and choir, with a 60 ft x 30 ft LED HD projecting movie images and narrated by Anthony daniels that played C3PO
Yes, we are also bringing the kids for cover. let me know how it was, I can’t wait.
LOL..instead of waving a lighter at a concert, you could bring your saber! Nothing to be ashamed of, it is a wonderful film score.
Saw it at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ a week ago. Great live music by a touring symphony, excellent synchronization with good film selections, amusing narration by Mr. C3PO. The area wasn’t close to full — perhaps three or four thousand attendees. A good time was had by all.
I still have the original vinyl double LP (with poster inside). Also, I have the version by The Electric Moog Orchestra on LP. It’s so cheesy and bad, but it was part of my Star Wars mania back in the day (1977).
Still not as cool as my planned bachelor party, where Princess Leah will strip to the sounds of Meco.
I still remember seeing John Williams perform at the Hollywood Bowl way back when... the crowd went wild when r2d2 rolled onto stage.
Our local symphony performed the Star Wars concert, it was great! You will enjoy it.
I went with my family to see it. 16 years old. Loved every minute of it.
Then again, I wrote a story about a killer snowman when I was 8, only to have my thunder stolen by Trey Parker and Matt Stone who did a cartoon with a similar theme some 10-15 years later.
MLIA......
Have fun at the concert.......
Mineola 26 - Franklin Square 6.
Hope to see it Baltimore or DC, though I am guessing that it will cost an arm and a leg.
I assume that you know about the acapella tribute to John Williams.
Lots of fun;

Eh, I’d rather it be Amidala.
Saw it Thursday at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles (across the street from STAPLES Center, home of the Lakers). It was freaking awesome. I played in band and orchestra when I was young (40 now), and I still have the vinyl of the first three Star Wars films.
Get there early so you can see the exhibits, and have pictures taken with the stormtroopers (all kinds) and rebels there. Daniels was great, and I enjoyed the conductor's work (though I've never seen/heard a live orchestra playing a "Star Wars" song without John Williams conducting it).
Small aside: best "Star Wars" concert ever seen: the second half of John Williams' 2003 Hollywood Bowl annual concert - music from all five (at the time) movies, and narrated by James Earl Jones (Darth Vader, for those in Rio Linda).

If you really want to see Star Wars musicals, check out the 1978 television special. Princess Leia sings, C3PO does a softshoe dance, and Bea Arthur presides over the Cantina freakshw.
Multiple parts

Yes! I'm sure the Franklin Square daddies were cryin' all the way home in the Escalades (which replaced the IROC RZs they used to drive when I played for the Warriors).
