The article doesn’t specifically say who the perp was, but I inferred from the article that it might have been the husband.
Very sad, either way.

The NRA is filled to overflowing with gun-toters who have never killed their husband/wife in a murder suicide. The police department is also filled to overflowing with non murder-suicides. Heck, even criminals don’t muder-suicide. This is because “murder/suicide” is CrAzZzZzY :)

Neighbor Mark Long said Meleanie baby-sat his 3-year-old son and that she and Scott had been having marital problems for the last week. Scott left on Tuesday and Meleanie did not know where he went, but he came back Wednesday, Long said.

Now we know why she had such a desire to protect herself.

Agree.
In NH there was just a case where 4 teens with a machete and knives killed a mother, wounded her daughter. I've heard people on the radio use that case as an argument for more gun control. On what basis? Well ... think how much worse it would have been in the teens had had guns!
The gungrabbers will use absolutely anything in their quest to disarm the public. Sure, there are crazy people out there, and crazy people shouldn't have guns. But gun control only disarms the non-crazy law-abiding people, and I see no benefit to it.

She probably carried a gun everywhere she went to protect herself from a nut-case husband whom she feared would kill her and maybe everyone in sight if he was stalking her.....even to a soccer game.

At least the gun gave her a chance.
To: worst-case scenario
This is one of the only cases I’ve ever heard of in which a woman got a gun to protect herself, carried it, and it didn’t do any good. Sounds like she let her husband in the house, which was a mistake. Poor lady! She had the best reason in the world to carry a gun—she knew her husband better than anybody.

(I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.)

This story would normally have been covered from an angle of "violence against women" and the need for protection.
This should be a scandal...with a headline reading, "Sheriff revokes gun license when woman needed it most".
But, since she was publicly making a case for gun rights, she must be destroyed by the MSM. The title reads as if she got what she deserved. Liberalism is a mental illness.

How tragic for the children to be there for this event. On the other hand, it is good that the children were not also killed, as seems to have been happening more recently in these fatal family disputes.

DUH!!!!
Hold on a sec. I think I can still make a case that we don't can't be sure who the perp was....isn't it theoretically possible that SHE was the perp and HE was the victim? Maybe not likely, but based on the text of the story, isn't it possible?
The story only mentions an apparent murder-suicide as far as I can tell. It doesn't mention who the murderer was and who the "suicider" was.
To: ClearCase_guy
Gun grabber logic: People shouldn’t have guns because someone might go nuts and start shooting people and people who carry guns because a nut might start shooting people are just paranoid.
