After one day of face-to-face talks, the 49ers have reached a deal with first-round draft pick Michael Crabtree.

Working into the early morning, Crabtree signed a six-year deal, ending his contract impasse after 72 days. As of 4 a.m., no other details were available.

The No. 10 overall pick will be at the team's Santa Clara headquarters today when the 49ers hit the practice field after Tuesday's day off.

Citing league sources, ESPN reported that the Crabtree will get a six-year contract that he can void in five years if he meets undefined performance clauses.

I’m not too thrilled with Singletary getting another ‘weapon’ onboard... Crabtree will be worked in somehow, Vernon can handle having his there.. I hope. It’s gonna take some series play to beat the Saints. Gore being out doesn’t help.

Now get to work, punk.

This kid is going to need to get “Miked” like Davis did. Then he’ll fly straight.

This has been my humble observation. No team holdout... ever makes an impact when he comes back and MOST end up on the dung heap of mediocrity, and a few laters they’re traded or cut.

He will most likely be relegated to special teams.

Also, I bet there wasn’t much different in the initial offer and the one he finally accepted.

Lou Holtz actually had some pretty good advice for Crabtree in one of his "Dr. Lou" segments.

He basically told him (and any other young rookie) that an agent is just looking out to make money for himself. The rookie should visit the team that drafted him and get an offer. Once he does, he should take that offer to his agent and let him know, "I will give you half of every dollar you make for me that is higher than this amount."

The only difference is a sixth year at a $4 million base salary that voids if Crabtree plays out of his mind for the first five.

Crabtree and his dirtbag agent, Eugene Parker, caved. There’s some word that Deion Sanders, Parker’s former client, leaned on him to get a deal done because he’s a central role in the 49ers’ tampering allegations against the Jets. (Sanders said on NFL Network that he knew of 2 teams that were willing to pay Crabtree what he wanted, and he apparently got the information straight from Parker.)

Great job holding out on the part of the Niners. Now the little punk needs to put up AND shut up. Singletary will certainly see to that.

The niners are winning with out him. They told him crap or get off the pot.

This is what happens when you get strong with someone who has never heard the word no.

Hope he rides the ebnch forever

IMHO this is another rookie who thinks he’s better than he is, especially at the NFL level where players are bigger, faster, stronger and hit twice as hard..

Good job 49ers! I just hope you signed him for even less than what you were offering since there are less games to be played.

Crabtree should be licking the 49ers boots for not writing him off.

this is what you should do if you are hurt at work and have a disability. Get an offer from the company, then ask an attorney if he can get you more, and split on the amount over the first offer.

Crabtree will go the wayside of all the other late signers. Mark my word. Other people are playing because he didn’t show up. They’re not about to give up their place.

Plus this turkey didn’t have to go through two a day training camps. There’s got to be resentment there.

He’ll have no impact this year...even if they hit the playoffs.
