State police say 37-year-old Kelly Ann Walz was mauled to death Sunday night by the 350-pound bear.
Police say the Walzes kept the bear inside a cage near their
house about 20 miles northeast of Allentown.
Officials say Kelly Ann Walz threw a shovelful of dog food to
one side of the cage to distract the bear while she cleaned the
other side. At some point the bear turned on her and attacked.
A neighbor shot and killed the bear.

Walzes with Bears.
Bad idea.

A northeastern Pennsylvania dealer of exotic pets was operating with an expired license when his wife was killed by a captive black bear as she cleaned its cage. Tim Conway of the state Game Commission says Michael Walz' license expired in June 2008. He'd had the license to keep and sell exotic animals since 1994. State police say 37-year-old Kelly Ann Walz was mauled to death Sunday night by the 350-pound bear....

Police say the Walzes kept the bear inside a cage near their house. . . . Why?
To: takbodan
And that is why they are called animals. Like the “experts” would say, the bear was just doing what it lives to do. Killing stuff and eating it.

She threw a shovelful of dog food to one side of the cage?
If I threw a shovelful of dog food to distract my 90 lb. Lab, he inhale it all and be on top of me before I could do anything resembling cleaning.
I can only imagine how many nanoseconds it took a 350 pound to finish his appetizer and turn to the main course.

prayers up for this family....the children apparently saw the attack......
all animals....ALL....have the capacity to turn aggressive, violent....
even the old dog that you've had for years....their sight goes, their hearing, they aren't sure of their environment, and they'll snap at you if you surprise them....
I wish people had more common sense.....

The people who really freak me out are the ones who keep those huge snakes in their house. To me, those kinds of people have “issues”.

This is a great example of subliminal socialist writing by our media.
