FReeper melancholy had asked that I post the photos he took of the 912 March on DC.
Due to time constraints and a few computer problems they were not ready to post until now. My hope had been to have them posted by yesterday in celebration of the three week anniversary of the March, but alas I failed. Guess now I will be inducted into the Obama Fail Club.

And now a word from the photographer extraordinaire: (only because he insisted and hes the BOSS!)
Justa,
My deep and profound appreciation fails to describe your hard work and sleepless nights to put this thread together. Thank you very much for helping a picture-posting, terribly challenged FReeper, moi!
I couldnt have possibly shared my pictures with the wonderful FReepers on the best conservative forum in the world.
Thank you again.

melancholy snapped a few pics as they got their bearings.

As they hiked toward the Capitol the ladies got right into the spirit of the March.

They approached the Newseum at 6th and Pennsylvania Ave. at 12:20 and snapped this great close up of the outside wall. The second photo is one I snagged from someone somewhere on the net.

Melancholy and crew proceeded down the March route snapping pics as he went

All ages were present at the March -- from young children in strollers and older children walking to the elderly and handicapped both walking and in wheelchairs.

Around 12:30 they came across my favorite display at the March. These three guys were great about stopping and allowing folks to get their picture taken at the podium.

A couple of minutes later, thankfully, they were looking down
before seeing another great sign honoring our illustrious ENEMEDIA.

After a couple difficult to hear phone calls, melancholy informed me he simply could not find me as it was difficult to get through the throngs of people. Being a bit more familiar with the area I decided to try and find melancholy and company. I set off with my backpack, large sign on a large stick and Matchett-PIs bag I was guarding as she ventured into the crowd. Thank God for Tolerance Sucks Rocks, without whom I may never have made it to melancholy and his gang. Kristinn happened by a few minutes later and we all had a great time.

FReeper AliVeritas and daughter stop by to visit for a bit
Meanwhile, friend K independently chooses to recycle
no government nannys to demand it of her.

Please notice all the trash deposited neatly around the overflowing receptacle, while the lawn behind her is litter free!
Wish one of us had thought to take a few pictures with our own melancholy in them! DOH!
Once again, melancholy was snapping pictures as we made our way through the throngs of people still milling around the area.

This was an excellent set of posters
sums it up just about right!
A couple of rest stops later we arrived at the Entrance to the National Gallery of Art-Sculpture Garden.

We easily found the beautiful Pavilion Café, passing this little house which turned toward you as you walked by. There is a word for it, but I forget.

FReeper Matchett-PI and friend Richard caught up with us at the Café and we had a leisurely lunch and great conversation.

Not sure what Matchett was talking about, but it made for an interesting photo!

Buoyed by the sight of 1.75 MILLION like minded citizens and the making of new FRiends with whom we had been communicating with for years on FreeRepublic, we sadly parted company to go our own ways. Melancholy and company embarked on their long drive home, while Matchett-PI, Richard and I headed back to get ready for the convention while Tolerance Sucks Rocks vanished into the crowd. What an incredible experience! Many thanks to Jim Rob for giving us this special place to meet and form wonderful new FRiendships.
Better late than never. Thanks!
That was my thinking -plus- it keeps the 912 March fresh in our hearts and minds.
HEY! Where are you???
Thanks a lot for your help, Justa.
Jim,
I tried to find you in a sea of humanity but couldn’t search for long. I wanted to say hello as I promised but couldn’t get through the first wall of people.
Were they really 30,000? LOL!
I’m right here!
I was checking your work!
It’s wonderful.
You are the one that did the work...taking the pictures.
So clear and sharp in spite of the cloudy day. Good job!
No way! Excellent piece for those that were stuck way out west.
I didn’t see any “glaring screw ups. Maybe I’m getting too old!
Thank you Sir/Ma’am.
We thought we should show the pictures to all FReepers who attended the 7-”Man” March. Justa, Tolerance sucks rock, kristinn and my party of four.
According to the Media, that is! LOL
Couldn’t get high up somewhere to photograph the sea of humaanity, but I’m sure there are hidden aereal photographs from newspapers, police choppers, etc..
I didn't know that big body of water in front of the Capitol existed until I got home and saw the pics. Funny thing is...I was apparently just on the other side of it, before I went in search of melancholy, but couldn't see it for all the people!
NO! NEVER!!! ;*)
LOL! I love it and will forever refer to it as such.
Thought you may be interested in these pics. They are the ones I was telling you about.
As one person who was also there said, “It was like a big family picnic.” Well, without the food. Everyone was friendly to everyone else. No one in the groups I ended up walking with even asked your name, we just started talking like we’d known each other our whole lives. Mostly the signs or tee-shirts or State flags let you know where someone was from, but that didn’t really matter to the occasion.
It was . . . family. Calm, peaceful, fun, enjoyable . . . family gathering.
And the Capitol Police said “Thank YOU” to the group I was in as we returned to Union Station.
Next year will be better . . . but we’ll need to gather sooner and plan to leave Freedom Plaza at 8:30 or 9 AM, because I imagine there will be twice as many people. [Some of the people I rode on Amtrak back to BWI said that all the DC hotels were full and that they had to get rooms near BWI (Airport).] And I expect more Conservatives of color will join us next year, too. The ones that were there that I saw were having a great time, just chatting and talking and comparing notes. Everyone was so friendly and polite. It was a great experience. Bring the kids next year.
Sure?? I made a lot of typos missing words in these few posts already. LOL
Yep, great faces without the trade mark of typical snarl that all liberals sport. They were comfortable in their skin, if I may say so.
More pictures gang - see ABOVE!
Thanks for taking the pictures, Melancholy - and thanks Just A Nobody for starting this great thread and posting them! I had a blast hanging out with you all on Saturday! It was great meeting new FReeper friends.
Now I can't wait to see the pictures Pete and Dave (you know who you are:)) took at the march, at the hotel, at the banquet, etc., too. Whoo Hoo!! bttt

Thanks for sharing the pics. They are terrific!
Thank you Matchett-PI for adding the aerial/high shots, something I couldn’t do.
You’re quite welcome and it was a pleasure meeting you and Richard.
You’re quite welcome.
There wouldn’t have been any without putting Justa through the mill! LOL
Ping...............
I thought you may be interested.
Royalties??
What amazed me was that all Americans were represented!
You would think only "white" redneck racists attended per the enemedia.
Yes, there were a lot of white folks, but they make up 74% of the population (as of 2006) so why wouldn't there be a lot there? Latinos make up 14.8%, blacks 13.4% and Asians 4.4%. I don't know that they were "equally" represented at the March, but they WERE represented! All of them!
The same goes for Mideastern heritage and former soviet block countries. They were there, and they were there as PROUD AMERICANS...not some ethnic group whining they are not being fairly represented...AMERICANS!
You’re welcome! And thank you! I just sent him a link to this thread.
I had a blast hanging out with you all on Saturday! It was great meeting new FReeper friends.
Mega dittos! You are a real hoot! Thank you for hanging with me so I was not all alone...especially on the Metro! You and Richard made the day much more pleasant and fun than it would have otherwise been.
Speaking of Richard...Here are a few of his pics!
SURE! Why not? Have your people contact my people and we will work something out.
;*)
Exactly - unlike what Bernie Goldberg said to O'Reilly last week when he told him that "no way were the people who attended the 9/12 March a 'cross-section' of America". Talk about being out of touch! I will guarantee you that O'Reilly got an avalanche of email setting Goldberg straight.
More Proof:

HERE (Look carefully and you'll see our own "CongressmanBillyBob" in his colonial attire sitting on a park bench.)
And Doctors against Obama Care HERE
I don’t have “people”! I can’t afford any!
A mill a word and the hyphen is on the house!!
DEAL??
ROTFLMAO!!
MEGADITTOS backatcha! :)
Thanks for the ping and thanks to JustANobody for posting these great pictures that Melancholy took!
I too am looking forward to seeing any photos Freepers may have taken at the hotel and banquet of fellow and gal freepers. :)
Now you're coming clean! Were we chopped liver???? Just(a) kiddin'!!
thank you very much. I got lucky.
One blowhard to another, heh?
Was Bernie G. at the March? Hmmmmm?
Does that boviating fool BOR continue to say there were 60-70,000 in attendance. You know what you can do with BOTH of them, right??? Well, right???
Thanks for the links. Good stuff there. The first link wouldn't open. I'll try again later.
NO DEAL!!! We are operating under obamanomics now. I can hardly afford to pay attention it is so bad!
LOL! I just reread that post as I was scrolling down and thought to myself...I should have added BEFORE hooking up with melancholy and company! ;*)
Correct. All what you have to do is write me a check and the rest of the FReepers will have to pay for it, like it or not, right?
I got a meal out of you anyway. I can’t complain.
Thank you for your generosity.
Riiiiiiightttt! LOL!
The page kind of loads slow because there's so many pictures. When it first loads you may see a red x where a picture should be scattered among the other pictures. Just refresh the page and the pictures should open. If they don't, left-click the x and then click "open picture" in the window that pops up. He got some fantastic pictures of people of all ages from all walks of life!
A meal?!?! It was a sandwich and a turnover, fercryinoutloud! You should have gotten the black forest cake.....yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Excellent...I'll try later when there won't be so much traffic. Thanks for the input.
That is another thing I briefly touched on putting the thread together...the vast assortment of folks. From little ones in strollers to the lady in a wheel chair holding a sign saying she is 91 and not ready to go yet! Simply amazing! And yet the enemedia feels free to ignore the entire day.
Remember the "old" days when 2-5 screamers would show up somewhere that President Bush was to appear and that is all we heard about for days on end until the next time 2 or 3 would show up to protest President Bush. I really do despise the enemedia!
And the Capitol Police said Thank YOU to the group I was in as we returned to Union Station.
I'm not surprised. They were probably happy to be on duty that day. I was joking with them and asking where the riot gear was. They were laughing and showing me how all they had to do was put a piece of plastic streamer up and ask that we go to the right. "And you all did it!", one officer said in amazement.
This is how I am used to seeing the police in DC when they are on duty for a march through the city.
This pic is from mid March 2008 in front of the Recruiter's Station on 14th St. in DC. 100 or so anti-war commies decided to march through the streets, without a permit, hurling rocks and paint bombs. Kristinn, Basil, trooprally, TrueBlackMan, Flora McDonald, me and a few others were standing between the officers and the Recruiter's station.
Next year will be better . . . but well need to gather sooner and plan to leave Freedom Plaza at 8:30 or 9 AM, because I imagine there will be twice as many people.
Gathering earlier will not aleviate the problem, and may hold down attendance for many that drive in. There were a number of folks I know, including the photographer for this thread, that made no attempt to get to Freedom Plaza prior to 11:30 for the beginning of the March. Others went directly to the Capitol, skipping the March altogether.
Also, families with young children or older family members have a lot to do to prepare to attend an event such as this. If they have to start at 6 or 7 AM they may decide it is not worth the effort.
No, simply make the congregating area a much larger venue, not some little speck of a park that most had never heard of! Gather at the Washington Monument or Constitution Gardens. It wasn't the time that was the problem, it was the place!
A meal is a meal, is a meeeeaaal, fercryinoutloud! I quite realize it wasn't at Sardi's or Maxime Paris. The company is what counts! It was mmm mmm mmm, however.
Oh, Gee, I forgot to continue, I got programmed already...Barack Hussein Obama, mmm mmm mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, and of course, DEATH TO AMERICA!!!!
http://www.maxims-de-paris.com/paris/resaparisus.html
Your exacerbated BOSS!
Wonderful pictures.
Thank you Guenevere, but melancholy took the pics. I simply posted them for him.
IIRC, you were unable to attend the event. I hope these photos and commentary made you feel a part of the historic event that was the 912 March on DC.
