"Alpine scenery". 'Nuff said.
Well, maybe better said:
"Spectacular alpine scenery".
First two are of La Corne de Chamois (second one's not clickable for bigger)
Look for the two waterfalls.

Classic reflection shot of snow-capped mountains

Waterfalls in the cirque

KEYWORDS: cirque; france; mountains; switzerland
All but one of these are from Panoramio. Great site, but they screwed it up by putting little pictures all over the maps. Now you can't see where the location is!!!

Beautiful! Reminiscent of the North Cascades (my stomping grounds).

If you were taking these pics yourself I would be jealousYou'd have reason to be. All this tells me is that there are far more places that I'd like to see than I'm going to see. I was thinking the other day about all the planets that astronomers are finding; isn't it amazing and God-given that we ended up on one that has so much astonishing variety? It's not a boring planet, is it?
There are so many religio-philosophical directions that could stem from such a contemplation, but I will just stick with astonishment that God gave us so much to figure out -- and he gave us the joy inherent in the capability to explore and discover so many different aspects of creation.
