My response to Michael Steele, Chairman of RNC
email response to RNC ^ | 9-24-09 | self

Chairman Steele,

I got another one of your letters requesting money for the RNC.

When I see the RNC nominating AND supporting strong conservatives, not RINO's, I will contribute.

The Republican Party has one more chance to reclaim its place in America or Obama and the socialists will complete the takeover and there wont be a Republican Party anymore.

You better be strong - strong as We the People have been.

We have been beaten up, had our fingers bitten off, had union thugs called out by the President of the United States, who instructed them to "push back twice as hard."

We have been called nazi's, un-American, mobs, had doors slammed in our faces, we have been called TeaBaggers, we have been marginalized and ignored in DC on 9-12.

We have been reported to a snitch website by fellow Americans by direct request of the President of the United States.

We have been strong, going to townhall meetings in huge numbers, we organized and went to hundreds of Teaparties.

Over a million of us took time off from work and traveled to Washington DC. We have written and called our representatives. We have been strong.

Will the Republican Party be strong with us as we face the toughest fight in our lives?

Will the Republican Party stand by us and support our candidates instead of those who like to "reach across the aisle to my good friend, Senator Dimwit".

Stand strongly by Palin. Stand strongly by Bachmann, Pawlenty, Ryan. These are the new faces of the Republicans. There are others, too.

One thing is certain in my mind: We do not need to run some lifelong Republican politician like we did in 2008 and in 1996. We need new faces, and old values.

If I see the RNC moving in that direction, maybe then I will donate my hard earned money.

Sincerely,

A Life-long Republican from Texas

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: rino; teaparty; townhalls
I keep getting solicitations from the RNC because I have donated in the past, but I am making them earn my contribution this time around. I better see some strong positions and strong support for Palin, Bachmann, Ryan, etc or I wont contribute. We need new blood.

The OP wing of the Republicrat party had several chances over the past several years to stem and reverse the socialist tide. Instead they have purposely chosen to abandon Conservative principles to expand their voter base. They are not about to change that strategy.

JOIN THE TAX REVOLT
STOP YOUR SPENDING
Don’t give to Washington
Don’t give it to Wall Street.
Don’t put it in the Local Bank
Take your extra cash and bury it in the “back yard”.

And above all tell your “career politicians” why you have stopped spending.
Tell Washington to stop their out of control spending.

Like you, I have donated in the past... faithfully! I stopped donating in 2006.

I have received a ton of donation request and phone calls since then.

I gave up writing and asking them to take me off their mailing list after sending four letters like yours. I keep getting requests for donations... they go in burn bag. I hang up on the phone calls.

While I agree with your sentiments, each state with an open primary must, through their own state legislatures, close the primaries. I, too, felt as you do, until I looked into the problem.

I understand that the RNC and all of the other “official” Republican money soliciting organizations basically hire people to open the envelopes to extract the checks and update the sucker list that the check gets you on. Even if there is no check, the fact that you, in some way, responded keeps you on the list. In fact, you don’t have to do anything after your first contribution to keep on getting the solicitations. I also understand that the people opening the envelopes aren’t necessarily “Republicans”.

We quit contributing in ‘06 and target specific candidates with our contributions. We have contributed to Tim Walberg for congress from Michigan, Marco Rubio for senate in Florida, and Joe Wilson most recently. We also made the mistake of contributing to Norm Coleman just before he voted in favor of illegal aliens in ‘06 or ‘07-can’t remember when that was now.

What do you mean by "CLOSING THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES"? Please don't give me a snarky answer when I'm simply asking a question.

Next time one of their “surveys” come around give them a call and ask them the results of the survey.

Of course, you will not hear any answer from them - it’s “confidential”. And in reality, they don’t even tabulate them - they just get the money out of them (less and less every year with RINOs in control) and throw the rest in a corner.

They think you are stupid robots prone to fall for anything they suggest. Until they start listening to you and the millions like those who showed up for the Tea Party, they will have a losing record. Expect some worn out RINO to be the 2012 candidate.

I’m not the snarky type. The Republicans leave their presidential primaries open and allow Democrats and Independents to cross-over, vote for the worst candidate in the Republican primary, then cross-back and vote Democrat in the election.

Sounds very much like what I have been scrawling across RNC solicitations for years. If enough of us do it, perhaps it will wake them up?

NAAAAAHHHHH...

Historical parallels are ofinterest only as thought stimulants, I am reminded of the fate of the Whig Party, where Clay ,Webster and Filmore tried to straddle the fence on the slavery issue, and ripped their pants. We know that party fell apart. My question is can the Republican Party avoid the same fate?

Last week, I was having lunch with my parents at their home and the phone rang. My mother took the call... it was the RNC looking for (more) money. She said, “Sorry, this household now bypasses the RNC and now donates all its contributions directly to RON PAUL, who is the only REAL REPUBLICAN out there”.

My dad and I were howling in the background.

Great letter! I’ll stand right behind you on that. Will we get representation or more pandering? That is the question.
