>>”My oldest had allergies”>>>
You may find that at some point his allergies may return and he won’t necessarily be allergic to the same things. I hope that doesn’t happen because allergies can be a real curse.
I had no idea that could happen. It seems most of us in the family are allergic to something.
Well, no one you knew died, but a few kids did die. In some cases, way back in the day, no one may have connected the death with the food.
Anyway, there’s evidence suggesting that the rise in allergies is in some way connected to the decrease in...parasites. Modern medicine finally reaches some isolated little village or South Sea island. The HCPs note, among other information, that the populace has a high rate of tapeworms and other disgusting things, and at the same time, note no allergies. No sensitivity to shellfish; no hay fever. A few years and a lot of pills later, parasites are a thing of the past, but the allergy rates are creeping up.
That’s wasteful and silly if she is choosing to buy pepperoni pizza instead of cheese pizza vegetable pizza. But if the school doesn’t offer any reasonable vegetarian choices, well, she’s doing what she can. I pick plenty of yucky things off of my sandwiches and salads just because I don’t like them, waste be damned.
