In a somewhat schizophrenic report on Tuesdays CBS Evening News, White House correspondent Chip Reid proclaimed President Obama is: "still the darling of the international community. Warmly welcomed by a world that grew weary of President Bushs brash go-it-alone style." But also admitted: "But with scant progress on a long his of issues, the question now is what does he have to show for it?"
Anchor Katie Couric opened the segment by asking Reid: "Can the President be anything other than the center of attention? Can he do more with that?" Reid replied: "He sure would like to be, Katie. You know, at every international summit he has attended he has been the most popular person in the room. But now many people are asking what good is popularity if it doesnt lead to concrete results?" After denouncing President Bushs "brash style," Reid praised Obama for his "sharp departure" which " has recommitted the United States to working with the U.N. and engaging the world."

Did Katy really sak/ask this? really?
“Anchor Katie Couric opened the segment by asking Reid: “Can the President be anything other than the center of attention? Can he do more with that?”
Can Katie be any more pathetic? Does she have the slightest clue what the office of President of the United States is all about? I guess, in her world, ratings are everything and nothing else matters.
>> “But with scant progress on a long his of issues, the question now is what does he have to show for it?”
Hello!!?! Are you really that stupid, CBS?? The whole REASON the so-called international community is “warming” to Obama is precisely that we WON’T have “anything to show for it”! They win, we do nothing but LOSE.
Duh.
So what form does this new, expanded cooperation with the UN take? AIDS money to Africa? Bush already did it. The U.S. military policing some UN mandate? Already done by half a dozen Presidents. What, then?
Control. The UN's control over U.S. industrial development (such as it is) through environmental policy, control of its military deployments in the form of permanent vetoes, expropriation of money and redistribution to everyone who may make a case, however fraudulent, for receiving it. And 0bama will go along happily as long as his own personal power is not threatened. And it won't be...as long as he always says "yes."
And Saddam paid off some of the nations that didn’t support the US in the war against Saddam.
With “Can he do more with that?”....Katie has placed herself in the running for the CBS Pure Journalism Award of 2009, the Smith-Jone-Brinney Award for Best Journalist outside of Manchester, UK....and finally the NPR-CBS-ABC-NBC-MSNBC Hokey-Pokey Journalist Award of 2009.
Dare you suggest “pathetic”?
It’s hard working as the biggest loser journalist of the big three, and then the biggest super-loser of the big five.
MSM is really getting wobbly...they seem torn between shoring-up their Golden Boy and running from his increasingly inevitable collapse
Unqualified
Unaccomplished
Irresponsible
Incompetent
What less can you say?
“Engaging the world?” I say we break off the engagement.
Mr. Obama has never done anything, except get elected.
Beyond that, his vita is a blank.
Has Barack Obama ever been RE-ELECTED to a single office?
I can’t help that think Katy may have “fallen in love with Beck” really really deep down but not to her “conscious self”, LOL! He was very patient with her too!
Well that pretty much says it all. The international community likes him because he does nothing.
I’m sure obama has accomplished enough for a third memoir. What more could we want? [Actually, I’m thrilled that his accomplishments have been so limited, since the socialist’s intentions are uniformly evil.]
