PORTER, Texas -- A 3-year-old girl was critically injured Thursday when she was attacked by a pit bull in Porter.
The child was visiting her aunt's house on Sweet Gum near Live Oaks.
She went in the backyard to help feed her aunt's three dogs and that's when the pit bull attacked, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
The little girl was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital. She's being treated for multiple puncture wounds and is in critical condition, according to Detective Mike Landrum.

Prayers are with that little girl.
Prayers for the little girl.
This might be a first for the dog and it might be a lovable pet yet it has tasted blood, from a child and will probably be put down
DOG OF PEACE ALERT. Move along Freepers, nothing to see here. All dogs are equally vicious. Seen a teacup poodle once disembowel a nun. It’s all about the masters, not the dogs. Etc. etc. /s
When is all this going to stop??????
Get a life.
So you love those Pits,?...........not as much as they love your children!
The child still needs prayers . I don’t understand why you addressed your post to me. I didn’t say anything about the pit. I pray for all FReepers & people who are in need of prayers.
“When is all this going to stop??????”
When people stop paying attention to the media and they start either publishing ALL attacks by dogs or NONE, when adults stop having their toddlers feed their lawn ornaments, when idiots get a clue about true dog behavior, when common-sense laws are passed governing the responsibility of dog owners, and when people think for themselves.
but in the meantime....children babies and adults pay the price.
“but in the meantime....children babies and adults pay the price.”
They would anyway. It’s not a breed issue, never has been. That is why the average number of deaths from dogs has not risen since the pit bull became so popular. There are millions of them, and there are lots of people that try their hardest to make the dogs killers. If they really were all bad or even capable of being that way through severe neglect and abuse, the number of deaths would skyrocket. Instead, it has stayed the same as it has been since we recorded the numbers, long before pit bulls were seen as they are now.
Why is it that you always hear about pit bulls and pretty much nothing else? Remember, the media is not a public service. They are a business, and it is in their right to publish what they choose. They don’t have to report every attack, just like they aren’t held responsible when they make mistakes in the details of their stories. They turned down my mother’s story because it involved a lab. A lab that jumped out of the window of a moving car, ran into someone’s house through their open front door, and attacked a dog that was sitting on their couch. If it had been a pit bull, I have no doubt that would have aired on more than one station. Pit bulls have been in the national news for much less than that.
Wow...
