Even Anna Nicole Smith's companion Howard K. Stern is not beyond being libeled, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Former TV journalist Rita Cosby had charged Stern's tattered reputation made him "libel-proof."
Manhattan Federal Court Judge Denny Chin rejected that argument in a decision that allows a portion of Stern's libel action against Cosby to go to trial.
Stern is suing Cosby for $60 million, charging that more than a dozen passages in her tell-all best seller, "Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death," damaged his reputation.
Stern cites a passage in which Cosby writes that Smith, in front of her nannies in the Bahamas, regularly watched a video of Stern and Larry Birkhead - the father of Smith's baby - having sex.
Cosby argued Stern wasn't defamed because sex tapes are commonly made by celebrities, and do not expose them to contempt.
Chin rejected that argument "as absurd.".........
