Misleading title. Savage said he would leave radio shortly after England removes him from their banned list and provides an apology. That’s a pretty big if.

It also could be a publicity ploy. He is has turned off a lot of conservatives.

Why doesn’t he just stop taking callers and hire a masseuse and an amen chorus?

It’s not misleading, Savage DECLARES his retirement, and that’s exactly what he does on the clip, and if you listen carefully to it, he says with certainty that will be within this year.

As the song says...
Here's a quarter, call someone who cares. On the upside, it will free up some time on my local talk radio station. Maybe they'll pick up someone decent.

Oooh, we could get a delay of Levin if he goes bye bye. I’ve often thought that our local should ax Savage and pick up Levin.

If this is not just a stunt, he probably figured he sucked all the money he could get from being a fake conservative.
He will now suck liberals dry, having been "enlightened" that every thing he "believed" as conservative is wrong.
I predict he will sell lots of books about the evils of conservatives.

Misleading title.
Savage said he would leave radio shortly after England removes him from their banned list and provides an apology. Love it! In short, Savage will leave when hell freezes over. Good for him.

Now if we could just get rid of the “flaming moderates”
To: truthandlife
It also could be a publicity ploy. He is has turned off a lot of conservatives.Savage has talked retirement for awhile now, but he's never 'committed' to leaving the air as he did the other day, don't see what publicity motive this could possibly be about, many people on both sides of the aisle want Savage gone.
To: rahbert
Im hoping the affiliates replace him with Michael Medved or Dennis Miller. You are definitely a moderate, lol.

WTH? Why was this thread moved to Chat?
To: whatisthetruth
I just don’t buy it. It’s one of his mood swings. He will come up with some contrivance that demands he remain on the air, for the good of the nation.
I’m a fan, but not a mark.

News? I dunno. I don’t call it a sure thing that the Doc is retiring. Lots of wiggle room there and you know the Doc’s moods!

I sometimes listen to Savage on my drive home from work. He does have some interesting perspectives on issues. However his whole spiel that he is the only "true" conservative and all the other conservative commentators such as Rush and Hannity are just sell outs, gets old quickly. He also seems to go out of his way to remind his audience that he is so much more intelligent that all the other conservatives because he has a doctorate (in botany of all things).
I had to chuckle a little because recently Savage has been going on about how no one in the conservative movement is coming to his defense over the "baned in Britain" issue. Well Mr. Savage, here's a tip, when you talk about people like they are crap for years, they usually don't go out of their way to support you.
That being said, I am of the view that the more conservative voices out there, the better. So just because Savage was never really my cup of tea, his retirement will be a loss.

I just dont buy it. Its one of his mood swingsDid you listen to the show or the clip? It would be nice if it were just a mood swing but he committed himself to leaving the air. How does he do a 180 turn on that without taking a hit to his credibility just yanking the chain of his audience, some of us won't take kindly to that.
To: dynachrome
I dont call it a sure thing that the Doc is retiring. Lots of wiggle room there and you know the Docs moods!Did you listen to the clip? Savage has committed to leaving the air within the year, I just don't see the wiggle room, wish I did. When a person commits to something, I take them at their word.
So you're saying Savage is a liar? Has Savage broken other commitments in the past that I forgot about?
To: rockabyebaby
Shouldn’t encourage you. LMAO!
To: whatisthetruth
“If the ban is lifted.”
It probably will be and then we will see.
(ps. I would expect his ban on FR if he supports romney in 2012)
