Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable punched one of his assistants on Aug. 6 at the team's training camp headquarters in Napa, Calif., several media outlets reported on Monday.

"It's an internal issue, I'm not going to comment on that," Cable said on Monday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Web site National Football Post first reported that defensive assistant Randy Hanson was punched in the jaw by another member of the Raiders staff. Unidentified sources later told Fanhouse.com that Cable hit the third-year assistant.

ESPN is pretty behind the ball, as usual. This was reported hours ago. Cable will probably be fined by the league office.

There’s supposedly news rumbling from Denver that might be more football related than an Oakland coach cracking under the pressure of fixing that franchise.

Big deal. Buddy Ryan punched Kevin Gilbride during a game.

Well, you’ve piqued my NFL curiosity. What may be going on with the Broncos? Elway making a comeback?

Probably Marshall being traded. Or Simms named the starter. I’m hoping McDaniels quit. He’s such an a$$.

No idea. Jamie Dukes tweeted that Jason La Canfora has word of a major story going on in Broncoland and it’ll be up on La Canfora’s blog later. Dukes sounded a little angry, as if he couldn’t believe what was going on.

Brandon Marshall didn’t practice tonight, and his agent was in town recently, so it’s being speculated that Marshall may have been traded.

Hmm maybe the Giants for Marshall? Adding him to the Beagles would not please me at all.

This can't really be Cowboy-related, even though they need him--they just dumped MeO and it wouldn't add up bringing in another questionable character guy and, besides, I'd already have sniffed that one out.

Orton just got the dreaded and feared vote of confidence i was able to scare up. Could be his undoing...I'll have to see what transpires tomorrow. I need my beauty sleep.

Apparently it's just some generic "Marshall wants to be traded" story. Dukes' tweet made it sound like more than it was, and in the process he scooped his network's own reporter. Stpuid.

Typo correction on my last post: Stupid, not stpuid. It’s pretty stupid of me to make that mistake.

Okay, the real bombshell is here. Marshall is POed that the Broncos organization told the players not to express "too much" joy that Marshall was acquitted last Friday.

OMG. Not that. /s .

I predict a chemistry problem this year, which might well lead to a parting of the ways after all.

I see an arrogance problem at the head coach position this year.

Mangini and McDaniels have one thing in common: they both learned how to act like an ass to their players from the same guy, but they lack the Super Bowl rings to justify the behavior.

Both will flame out.
