Brad Pitt hasn’t thrown his hat in the ring to be mayor of his adopted hometown, New Orleans. Others have done that for him, launching a grassroots campaign complete with nifty T-shirts touting "Brad Pitt for Mayor"

But he's more than willing to serve, the actor told TODAY's Ann Curry with a self-deprecating laugh.

"If chosen, would you run?" Curry asked in the prerecorded interview that ran Thursday.

"Yeah," Pitt said.

"Would you serve?"

"Yeah. I'm running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform," he joked.

I can see how he would be popular in NOLA. As with most things I'm sure he would be more effective in realizing his goals in the private sector.

He’s been fighting for taxpayer funds to build another public housing GHETTO, and now he wants to use that graft as a springboard to public office?

Disgusting.
But, if it keeps him in New Orleans.

Unfortunately all I can say is BARF

But, I don’t particularly care for these two anyway! What experience would he have?

It doesn’t sound like running for political office was his idea. I would imagine anyone put in the position where they do have some support would be flattered.

I’m not aware of the exact circumstances of his building project down there.

He’s fighting for BILLIONS in federal money to rebuild the lower ninth ward, the slummiest area of NOLA. He wants another section of public housing, which invariable become slums and ghettos.

Katrina was a big flush.
He wants to churn up the turds.
