A lawsuit has been filed against the Gahanna Police Department by a former police officer who says he was 'defamed and harassed' after his wife appeared in Playboy Magazine.
According to the lawsuit former Det. Ronald Fithen claimed he was the target of a "invasive, non-criminal investigation" after his wife, Beth, appeared in a 2008 article in Playboy.
The Fithen's are naming the City of Gahanna, its police department, its police chief and deputy police chief as defendants in the suit.
According to the lawsuit, the chief and deputy chief of police, on numerous occasions, requested autographed copies of the photo spread. Fithen claims he provided the autographed copies because he feared retaliation from his posses if he did not.
The Fithens seek punitive damages for defamation, discrimination, and other claims.

I do not see this as a valid lawsuit. If they had demanded sex with his wife to keep his job that would be one thing, but autographed pictures? Don’t do stupid things and complain when people react in a way that annoys you.

Well...a quick Google image search of “Beth Fithen” pretty much tells the story. Publicity stunt in the making. Looks like Mr. Fithen found his attorney at the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe. This case is DOA. What a waste of court time.
