I know HBO probably isn't really looked upon to highly around here (love trueblood, enterouge)
But if anybody saw last night's stand up. As a conservative I have never felt more attacked in my life.
As usual we were all accused of being racist for opposing Sotomayor....i mean forget the fact that she actually uses race as motivation for her rulings and basically ignores the constitution....it has to be racist why we oppose her...
i mean lets all forget how the left treated Gonzelez under the Bush administration....that couldn't be racist...
As a half latin person i'm amazed at how I can be racist for opposing Sotomayor
and this brings me to a bigger question...as an entertainer why would you even try to offend at least half the country if not more ...shouldn't political jabs be a little more subtle...you are an entertainer and your only hurting yourself by alienating an audience
And I guess I understand now why Breitbart created Big Hollywood...if we are just straight up going to be attacked for who we are and lied about...we need to get our message out there because like it or not we can't allow us to be portrayed in the wrong way by a pretty large industry with a lot of influence....we must challenge these notions and stand up for what we truly believe in not allow fake distortions that create false templates that simply aren't true
George Lopez....I will no longer ever watch any of your shows your dead to me
Nope. Did not see it. I never really cared for his humor much. I saw his tv show a few times but could not stand the actress playing his mother or at least the way she was forced to play her.
I think they’re asking who DID see it.
No but his wife was one hot tamale
100 percent true.
No. Why would I want to?
True, but I wanted to express my opinion anyway. If we are only allowed to answer things that are directly asked by FRiends here, it would not be much of a forum.
I couldn’t even make it through the commercial.
He can make most laugh by raising his eye brows, cocking his head, and smiling. It is the uneducated, street way of asking, Get it? I've seen a dozen guys do that in conversation at work. Mostly the ignorant and uneducated.
He is funny, IMO, when he talks about his mother (grandmother) and how she raised him and the rules around the house. Funny stuff and almost Cosbyesque, but the rest of the stuff is ethnocentrism, stereotypes, and typical liberalism.
Commercial on HBO during the show?
George owns a farm now in CA. He can’t get the water rights he needs for that farm. The left has screwed him but he is playing up to Obama most likely to get him to do something.
He’s not funny, so no, I didn’t see it. I also had other plans.
“Progressives” is actually quite a good description of liberals. They grow progressively worse with time, always trying to outdo one another in the sharpness of their attacks. They feed on it the way sharks get into frenzies in blooded water. Inevitably, their personal nastiness begins to embarrass those who initially casually enjoyed the act. They begin to see the shallowness and cruelty behind these displays of bad character. Liberals grow more shrill when they begin to sense their own political vulnerability, which they do now. It is the only response they know.
His leftism - and he continued to be vocal about it - is what cost him his beloved gig as host of the Bob Hope Open....the golf crowd tends to run conservative, and he irked the wrong set.
I think you are referring to Paul Rodriguez. It’s his relatives farm and he is now firmly anti-Obamba.
On his sitcom, the father character played by Lopez often espoused conservative values of hard work and responsibility, and keeping boys away from his daughter. It really is suprising that he is such a lib in real life. Latin women aren’t usually my cup of tea, but I concur with the hot tamale comment made about the actress who played his wife.
You sure you aren’t thinking of Paul Rodriguez?
I was never a big George Lopez fan, but I did enjoy some of his work. I don't think I will ever watch his crap again.
I tell you, I could rant about this "Latino" crap for hours here, it makes me SICK, and my wife SICK as well. We are both of hispanic descent, she was even born out of this country, but we are 100% PURE AMERICANS, as are our kids, and we DO NOT subscribe to this "Latino" crap, in fact we consider it extremely offensive.
We watched Race to Witch Mountain last nite which was excellent.
Is that your real name? if not, from whence did it come?
Don’t have HBO and never have, so I don’t know who he is.
he’s definitely got talent but it loses the humor when you start sounding like a keith olberman show
now Nick DiPaolo...thats a good conservative comedian
he’s probably blackballed since I never see him anywhere but if i ever create my own network or buy some media...Nick is getting his own show

I saw the first few minutes, where he was just talking about how great it is that he’s on HBO & sold out the show, then when six minutes in he praises Sotomayor’s confirmation, my wife said it’s time to change it. She was very timely, apparently.
We thought maybe you went in person.
Yes you are right. I wonder if he is a friend of Lopez?
Thanx
“George can say anything about Bush or whites and he knows the audience is with him....”

It is bad enough that racist blacks and Hispanics are fully on-board with these in-your-face racist attacks.
The key is that not enough whites express outrage at this openly arrogant, hateful, divisive bull$hit.
Stop supporting garbage like this. Cancel HBO. Canceling HBO was one of the smartest moves I’ve ever made. Or do you actually like paying for the left to produce propaganda?
You’re thinking of Paul Rodriguez.
Who’s “we”?
From Wikipedia: He is the chairman of the California Latino Water Coalition, a group trying to draw attention to California's dire water situation.
I guess that is why i was kind of shocked when i saw the hbo special. On his show he has typical conservative values
Which somehow i think most liberals don’t even know what liberalism truly is...they just bought hook line and sinker that republicans are bad and racist without knowing what liberals truly believe in....
Probably not anymore.
Hang in there. It’s the loud, obnoxious, and disruptive who get all the publicity; especially if they’re yelling about Bush or stupid republicans.
There are a group of us who follow your posts and then we go on a chat room and laugh.
you just described one of the biggest paradoxes of the left’s agenda...
very well said
Your strange.
To quote a certain President, ‘I feel your pain.’ Unfortunately our side has not had a good conservative leader to demonstrate to the Hispanic community that our values are consistent with conservatism, and voting rat will further erode them. We’ll get there, but it will take time and a lot of effort. We have to remind people that the racist party is the rat party. They are the ones that want to enslave our economically and socially.
YOU’RE correct.
FWIW, Benjamin Cardozo was the first Hispanic justice on the SC
I do enjoy a well structured entertaining story and can ignore small leftist jabs...true blood is fantastic even though I know true blood is using vampires as an allegory to homosexual rights and they portray southern religious people as bigots...but beyond that its an engaging story that isn’t overtly left
Right now i only watch Entourage and True Blood on HBO though
Too close to “Molon Labe” to be an accident
I loved the George Lopez show, still like the reruns. But most of those comedians featured on Comedy Central are highly leftist.
And George Lopez doesn’t seem to be any different.
I think he means the commercial FOR the special.
I hear ya chevy. I suppose with anything coming from Hollywood you have to ignore the insults in able to enjoy the show.
As for Lopez, he’s been dead to me since his racist comments after his show was canceled.
I think that’s why I liked the SHOW of George Lopez and not the stand up. Although that special “Why you crying” was pretty funny. And “ta loca” has become a commonly used phrase in our house, LOL.
The first Time I saw Lopez I pegged him as a “dirt bag” and have refused any viewing of him since. I do not like his voice, his appearance or his ideas. He is not funny or comical.
“Or do you actually like paying for the left to produce propaganda?”

WAY too many conservatives are.
Personally, I have a thin skin when it comes to repeated lies and insults concerning all that I believe and all that I have worked for.
A very thin skin.
