Stars come out for White House music event (CAPTION THIS)
UPI ^

Posted on 07/22/2009 9:29:47 AM PDT by Lucky9teen

WASHINGTON, July 21 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama welcomed Alison Krauss, Union Station, Brad Paisley and Charley Pride to the White House Tuesday for a night of country music.

The event marked the second in a series created to celebrate "the music that's contributed to the life of this nation and chronicled the history of our people," Obama noted.

"We began this tradition last month with an evening of jazz. And tonight, we celebrate another uniquely American art form: country music," he added.

The commander in chief thanked Krauss and Paisley for participating earlier in the day in a country music workshop for about 120 members of "the next generation of young musicians."

Obama also told the audience he enjoys country music even though he is regarded as a "city boy."

"I do appreciate listening to country music because, like all Americans, I appreciate the broad and indelible impact that country has had on our nation," he said. "It's touched countless lives, it's influenced all genres of music, it's helped us make the American people more hopeful, it's captured our restlessness and resilience, and told so much of our story in the process."

Brad Paisley’s career is done in country music circles. Bank on it. Country music’s fan base is 95% conservative.

Krauss is respected but a known hippie type. She’s not a big commercial radio star.

Paisley on the other hand never tipped his hand. He won’t live this down. Seems like he waited til he was a semi superstar to out his liberalism. Similar to McGraw and Faith Hill - two other liberal sellouts.

Wait— on what basis does she take “a hit”? Because she played for an Obama White House? If that’s the reason, then I ask what’s wrong with her (and the others— I assume they ALL take “a hit,” right?) taking the opportunity to showcase Country Western music? From the article, it seems to have been a politically neutral event.

I’m not too shocked at Krauss, but Paisley, I’m kind of disappointed in.

Though, maybe they got the invite and thought it to be an honor to visit the White House. I’m trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Tune into Plains tonight, July 22. Ken Dunbar will have as his guest, renouned Canada Free Press writer, J B Williams. Mr. Williams is the author of the article, ‘Are YOU afraid of Obama?’.
He will discuss the bc issue and predictions of ‘civil war’.

http://www.plainsradio.com/radio.html

From Williams’ article in Canadian Free Press:

http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/12999
(snip)
Every member of the Supreme Court, every member of congress, every member of the Joint Chiefs, most members of the DOD, CIA, FBI, Secret Service and state run media, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS, NPR, MSNBC, Fox and print news, knows that Barack Hussein Obama does NOT meet Article II – Section I constitutional requirements for the office he holds. By his own biography, there is NO way he can pass the test. The hard evidence is so far beyond overwhelming, it is ridiculous.
(snip)
But not ONE member of America’s most powerful people will dare confront Obama and his anti-American cabal on the subject. The Constitution does NOT stand.
(snip)
If Americans won’t let leftists have their country, the left will burn it and leave it in ruins. There is no peaceful way out of the corner leftists have placed Americans in… Congress, the courts, even the military brass and law enforcement, will do nothing to save this country. The state run media complex is running interference. The American people are on their own here…
(snip)
Half of the people you expect to stop this insanity are quiet co-conspirators in the silent coup. The other half is paralyzed by fear, motivated only by political self-preservation.
(Snip)
Americans keep asking what they can do because they see that none of their leaders are doing anything to stop the demise of their beloved country. It’s the right question, because those leaders are NOT going to stop this thing.
(Snip)
Who will save Freedom?
A brave few… This is how it was in the beginning, how it has always been and how it will be.
(Snip)
Orly Taitz, Phil Berg and Gary Kreep, all of whom have made defending the Constitution and the American way of life a personal ambition, in the absence of any constitutional leadership.
(Snip)
A precious few, but they exist… and the walls are indeed closing in on Obama and his evil cabal. If the American people fail to get behind these brave few who are seeking peaceful redress, all peaceful options will evaporate as if they never existed. We will return to a pre-1776 America overnight

Listen to Paisley's new song Welcome to the Future. It's an anthem for Obama. Enough said.

Song goes something like... "My racist football buddies burnt a cross on the (black) running back's front yard. And now we have a Black President. Welcome to the Future. Gushes how proud Martin Luther King would be. Etc.

Waited til he was big time to come out.

Paisley and Alison Krauss b-listers?

You don’t get out much, do you?

5 grammys for alison this past year for her Raising Sand project with Robert Plant, including album of the year and record of the year.

Paisley packs huge outdoor venues for his shows.

Love Alison and respect Brad for his guitar chops, but pop country is not really my thing.

Was this a political event? I don’t really see how playing for the president should automatically be bad for business. Did they do some kind of sloganeering on the stage?

I really don’t understand not listening to someone because they played for the president of the United States at a non-political event.

But that is just me. I’m against picketing I just don’t know how to show it.

to McGraw and Faith Hill - two other liberal sellouts.

I was shocked to find out that Tim (& maybe Faith) has a drug problem. I don't think he will be running for any office any time soon after some of the things that came out of a court case against him.

A close friend of ours son-in-law was the attorney for the plaintiff (McGraw body guard) against McGraw. The son-in-law (a reputable attorney) and his wife were always guests at the Tim & Faith concerts around here and had dinner regularly with them. So, I don't think they would be spreading rumors just for the heck of it but who knows.

If what they say is true Tim McGraw has some SERIOUS problems. It makes me cringe to think about it. I really love Tim & Faith music.

Brad Paisley’s New Single: Welcome to the Future (Ode to Obama)

He-e-ey...
Everyday is a revolution.
Welcome to the future.

He-e-ey...
Look around it’s all so clear.
He-e-ey...
Wherever we would go and well we...
He-e-ey...
So many things I never thought I’d see...
Happening right in front of me.

I had a friend in school,
Running-back on a football team,
They burned a cross in his front yard
For asking out the home-coming queen.

I thought about him today,
Everybody who’s seen what he’s seen,
From a woman on a bus
To a man with a dream.

He-e-ey...
Wake up Martin Luther.
Welcome to the future.
He-e-ey...
Glory glory hallelujah.
Welcome to the future.
