An employee of Harrah's Lake Tahoe hotel in Nevada has claimed in a civil lawsuit that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her in his room last July while he was in town for a celebrity golf tournament.
The complaint, filed Friday in Washoe County, Nev., also names eight Harrah's employees accused of being part of a widespread cover-up in the Harrah's organization. They include the resort's president, security chief and other supervisors.

Harrah's Entertainment spokeswoman Jacqueline Peterson today said the casino and hotel chain had no comment, citing the pending litigation.
At the time of the alleged assault last summer, the woman was an "executive casino host" who also worked as a concierge for the American Century Celebrity golf tournament.
The complaint said the woman was introduced to Mr. Roethlisberger by a hotel employee. They talked about fly fishing the day before the alleged assault.
One of the co-defendants, John Koster, listed as Harrah's Northern Nevada president, was paired with the quarterback for the golf event. The complaint said the woman learned that Mr. Koster "boasted" about his friendship with Mr. Roethlisberger. The security chief, identified as Guy Hyder, "emphasized how important it was for plaintiff to ensure that Roethlisberger had a nice trip."

What would the “right thing” be? Are you assuming the ‘victim’ is telling the truth?
If you’re a sports figure you’re guilty until proven innocent.
ping
Gonna be very hard to prove a year later and no physical evidence.
Don't know if he had sex with the woman or not but a guy should never have sex with an unknown woman, especially if he is a rich celeb. All moral and health reasons aside you are setting yourself up to be plucked.
“Ben claims to be a Christian. He’d best do the right thing. “
What is the “right” thing when you are accused of something but it hasn’t been proven. You statement indicates he is guilty.
I don’t know what the right thing is, any more than you do. Only Ben knows. And he better do it.
WHAT?
This ain’t no Spike Lee Joint.....
LOL
“And he better do it.”
once again, you’re putting the fault in his lap when you don’t know anything about it. The only time that statement is used is when the man is at fault.
Another strumpet with a trumpet?
Gee I am glad I am not before your judgemnet court before the trial has begun.
“And he better do it???”
Ok...he has a very good, very expensive attorney repping him...so I would say Big Ben is doing the right thing to defend himself against a golddigger...
Read the criminal complaint. It’s linked at the article. I think this woman has emotional problems, which may have been complicated by whatever went on between her and Ben. The reality is that men sometimes interpret consent when no consent has been given. The reality is that some men don’t stop when they’ve been asked to stop. I don’t know what happened any more than you do. Only Ben does. And, as Spike Lee suggests, he better do the right thing.
My guard is up a bit here after what happened to Scotty Anderson of the Lions a few years back. He was lucky and was able to prove his innocence, resulting in his accuser getting busted for filing a false police report.
“The reality is”
The reality is gold diggers target sports stars.
That’s true, too. It says on TMZ.com that’s he’s acknowledged having sex with her. So we’ll see.
well he plays for the steelers right? I hate them, so perhaps it would be better if this took him off the field
Guilty by accusation.......works for me! /sarc
Hey...I went over the TMZ and there is no statement acknowledging any relationship of any kind on Roethlisberger’s part. Where did you see on TMZ that he said he DID have sex with her...because from the multiple posts up right now...there is NOTHING.
Wait a year then claim she was raped? She’s doing this for money. Period.
That's a G'd D'm lie and you know it! Post a link to the article then follow up with a quotation from that article where he admitted same.........
>
I’ve seen a couple threads on this. Some are presuming she’s a gold digger. Some are presuming he’s a rapist. I fail to see how anyone can have a judgement either way when so little has been released about this. They are both presumed innocent, imo, until more facts could give cause to indict one or the other with fault.
Ben...I ignored that over on the ‘other’ BigBen thread...now here it is again...like a cellulite nightmare.
Please...for the good of humanity...hit delete!
The reality also is that some women make stuff up in pursuit of a payday. The reality also is that some women change their minds - sometimes months later - and blame the man. The reality further is that unless the man is very wealthy and/or powerful, a woman can utterly ruin his life by merely crying rape even if it is later proven that they weren’t even in the same freaking county when the attack allegedly happened. (A friend went through this - job still gone, wife gone, kids gone to wife, moved because many locals only heard about the charge and not the exoneration. She of course faced NO charges and doesn’t have enough money to go after.)
Rape happens and should be punished. Harshly. But men are always the bad actors, and women aren’t always the victims.
Dagnabit, “men are always” should be “men aren’t always” PIMF
.......And for the ladies...

"McNulty had an e-mail relationship with what she believed was a U.S. soldier stationed in Iraq but that the "soldier" was actually the wife of a man with whom McNulty allegedly had a relationship. The TMZ report claims that McNulty was distraught when those e-mails ceased, and that she told others that the soldier had been killed in action. "
The other defendents Harrad's employees including Guy Hyder, Chief of Security at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, and John Koster, Harrah's Northern Nevada President. "According to the complaint, Hyder convinced McNulty to give her a key to her home so that he could check on her during her convalesence but "entered her home and on information belief without her knowledge proceeded to examine and remove and alter the content of and the file or files and information on her work laptop computer and to remove her computer which was done without her knowledge and understanding and was done for the purpose of providing the information to Harrah's and for their own Defendants' purposes."
To me all this adds up to the accuser is a nut.
And nuts to this-
"Ben claims to be a Christian. He'd best do the right thing."
An ‘unnamed source’ says that Ben says it was consentual...
That’s a far cry from ‘Roethlisberger admits...’
I don’t have a dog in this fight...but it just seems like a year lag; an accuser who is an admitted psychiatric patient (who had problems with a non existant man); appears to me like a $hakedown. It just doesn’t pass the smell test...and if I were a male FReeper...well, I would add ‘guilty’ to girlfriend’s ‘claim.’
Actually, the accuser doesnt have a claim to presumption of innnocence (or guilt) because she is not the one accused. If you make an accusation, the first thing a good attorney will do is find your character flaws.
Exactly! Remember the Duke Lacrosse Team.
Just wanted to say that Ben donated $8,000 for my city’s police dog (Jeannette, PA). I hate to think that Ben would be stupid enough to assault someone like this, but when it comes to sex, most men are stupid. I’m sure that the one with the better lawyer will win, regardless of the truth. Did this woman have a rape kit done after the “assault”?
The article states that Rothiisberger (sp) did indeed admit to a liaison (whether true or not) and for that I apologize to you.
I’ve seen one of Ben’s conquests. He’s not exactly discriminating. Stands to reason he’d run into trouble sooner or later.
Twenty plus years ago, Frank Deford did a radio commentary on the “annies” that threw themselves at players. He concluded with something like, “You cannot imagine the temptation. You just can't.”
But times have really changed. A while back I read an article from a guy traveling with a modern baseball team. If it's true, the gist of it was that while on the road, players stayed in their hotel rooms playing video games, and that they were always on the alert for diamond queens and gold diggers.
