Oh, please! I am sick of the politically correct idea that mountain lions, wolves, etc., should be protected because their nature is NOT to attack people. In some places, the DNR has planted wolves and made it illegal to shoot them because they are “not a threat to people.” Interestingly enough, when one wondered into the Chicago area they killed it. Evidently wolves are a threat to city people but those in rural areas should have no problem with wolves running around THEIR back yard because they are no threat to rural folks. If you shoot a wolf, they will prosecute you harder than if you shot another human being.

Uh, because it’s a predator? They’re not fluffy bunny cartoon characters, those mountain lions.

Poor little starving kitty. Hmmm. Why didn’t dad go for his sidearm during the staring contest? The morals of the story are: never bring a chainsaw to a gunfight...and s.s.s.

The goo-goo protection of dangerous predators like mountain lions will continue until a wolf or mountain lion devours the child of some politician; then all hell will break out.

Wildlife officials are trying to determine why a mountain lion attacked a Colorado man

Why?

Will it make a difference?

Are they attempting to design a class for errant cougars?

How will they determine the why?

Does the word WILD have meaning anymore?

I want to go on but as in this case, what would be the point, because the point has already been OBE.

Authorities say it was in poor physical condition and appeared to be starving.

And they're scratching their head as to why it attacked the guy?

“...trying to determine why a mountain lion attacked a Colorado man...”

Hey, “wildlife officials” there is nothing to determine.

Mountain lions/cougars are PREDATORS.

They see humans ALL HUMANS — even their own personal security force (wildlife officials) — AS PREY.

It the cat went after the man while he was actually using the chainsaw then I would wonder if the noise didn't really hurt the animals ears. Goodness knows chainsaws and leaf blowers hurt my ears and I can see how a wild animal could attack one.

NH law says it’s legal to kill any predator on your property if you have lifestock, which we do.

Revolver loaded with shotshells suffices for most chicken-stealing varmints. Shotguns with buckshot for bigger critters. Sidearms are better when you’re doing work around the farm, but the shotgun shouldn’t be too far away.

“Dustin Britton, a 32-year-old mechanic and ex-Marine from Windsor, Colo”

...”ex-Marine”?! No such thing. The arugula eating, cross dressing pansie that wrote this should spend less time getting his nails done and more time learning more about why he’s not speaking german or japanese right now.
