Vanity - Something fell behind the back seat of my car.
Owl_Eagle, his daughter, and a Toyota Camry | July 8, 2009 | Owl_Eagle

Posted on 07/08/2009 12:50:07 PM PDT by South Hawthorne

So, my daughter thinks she lost her favorite D.S. games in the back of the car. It either went behind the seat, or down that little hole where the seatbelts come out of.

Is there a way I can get it back short of shoving my hands down blindly in there?

Vanity - Something fell behind the back seat of my car.

It's brown and small. Possibly a Vermeer.

Burn it...

Those back seat monsters don’t care much for fire...Course you’ll have to stand by with a 12 ga. shotgun for when they escape the flames...

You don’t want them migrating to the front seat...They are a real pain when you are driving...

Say, your family name wouldn’t be Peterkin would it?

If it is, just do as your namesakes did. Ask the wise old lady from Philadelphia.

Try and find “The Peterkin Papers” at your local library for your child and forget about the games. She’ll thank you for it, after she stops laughing.

If you are trying to be delicate and use euphemisms, I suggest a trip to the doctor right away. With an endoscope they won't be shoving hands blindly into any little holes.

I had a Saturn where I had to remove the back seat. It was pretty easy, but I had a full repair manual to show me where to grab. I think I had to reach between the seat and back and pull at two places. After that the seat rocked forward. The foam part of the seat sat on a metal shelf which the seat belts were bolted to, so everything went to the same location. If you don't have access to a manual, it is probably worth a call to a dealer to see what the bill would be to remove it and replace it. I guess it might only be 1/4 hour of work for the whole job, so about $20-$25. Just the coins trapped under the seat might pay for it.

Is your car on? Do you have an owner’s manual? See what the process is to remove a seat (and collect spare change, thr occasional mummified fry, and stale cheerios).

“I blindly shoved my right arm betwixt the seat and the seat back, only to have my right arm SEVERED about 10 inches above the wrist, by the infamous backseat monster. Don’t EVEN GO THERE.”

This thread is highly entertaining. Oh yeah, sorry about your loss!
