In an effort to understand a Marxist bent on an end run at ‘global social justice’ we might define the words “freedom” and “justice”, relative to the following postulates:
1.) Marxism and Freedom are mutually exclusive -a given. 2.) “If you have socialism, you only require justice”. (A Presumed Tenant)
On to the definitions….
Freedom is:
Pretty simple. Everything (including opportunity) that is not restricted by law/code/agreement and that doesn’t infringe upon, nor unduly burden, others.
* Note here that attacks on the word have been rather fruitless; hence the Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives have stopped using the word in most contexts, where it would be entirely appropriate. As Obama put it, the Iranian protestors wanted “justice”.
Justice is: ( AND, please post your own in addition. )
- First and always, highly dependant on context. - Maybe, an impartial adjustment of conflicting claims. [Websters] - Certainly, a latina women from the Bronx. - Sheria Law - A Value Added Tax heavily favoring large vertically integrated Corporations. - Affirmative Action. - Not a means to personal satisfaction, for sure! - Electricity rates “necessarily skyrocket under my plan”. - Cap and Trade exporting prosperity globally. - Cap and Trade relieving the consumer of disposable income they might dare to save. - Cap and Trade robbing future generations of opportunity. - Needing to spread the wealth around. - Universal Healthcare requiring the young to buy costly/unneeded comprehensive coverage. - Metering out healthcare access to level life expectancy across socioeconomic lines. - Metering out healthcare access to level life expectancy across racial lines. - Appeasement policy. - 40% of the UN member states as tin-pot dictators voting for self styled deference. - New World Order modeled on the UN. - A Federal Reserve Audit to skate goat future raging inflation. - Global currency. - “Mad Max – The Thunder Dome”
Social justice is not justice at all. It’s the rule of the mob. And the rule of the mob is really the rule of the person who rules the mob.
