City digitally adds black guy to Fun Guide cover to make it more ‘inclusive’

The smiling, ethnically diverse family featured on the cover of Toronto's latest edition of its summer Fun Guide was digitally altered to make the photo more "inclusive," which city officials say is in keeping with a policy to reflect diversity.

A spokesman for the department that publishes the guide listing recreation activities confirmed the publication was doctored to insert the face of a different father.

"He superimposed the African-Canadian person onto the family cluster in the original photo. It was two photographs and one head was superimposed over the original family photo," said John Gosgnach, communications director for the social development division.

"The goal was to depict the diversity of Toronto and its residents."

The cover shot caught the eye of a National Post graphics editor, who ran it through a program called TinEye that detects visual enhancements to standard art.

The program showed the original image was of a laughing family of indeterminate ethnic background.

...this is from the Onion, right? That is a HORRIBLE Photoshop! The lighting doesn’t match, the angle’s wrong, and the guy’s got this “what the heck am I doing in this picture?” look.

Toronto should farm their Photoshopping out to the Iranians. They’d do a better job!

It sounds nuts now—wonder if our society’s “diversity” and multiculti hogwash will be regarded the same way in a few hundred years—if there’s anyone left to read about history then.

My wife and I enjoy looking at the mail:

"Oh, look honey! There's a negro on the cover of this catalog!"
"Why! So there is! And look! This magazine also has a negro on the cover! And so does this one!"
"Hey! It looks like clothes for negroes are on sale! There's a whole flyer here advertising them!"

That's been our general experience."Like I said, damn racists! If your city is so diverse, you could have found a family or used a more natural "diverse" stock photo.

they could have cut-and-pasted a head shot from Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, and it would have looked more realistic than that photoshop...

(I thought that Toronto was the most ethnically diverse city on earth....what gives?)
