The hits just keep on coming from our southside neighbors to the north; the fun-loving folks across the river in Jeffersonville. Wednesday morning, a resident of Elk Point Boulevard looked out and saw his trash can overturned, laying on its side. Garbage was strewn about his yard, and he was about to think some unkind thoughts about the neighborhood youth, when he observed a pair of legsclothed and shodsticking out from the can.
Elk Point Blvd. Resident Roberta Embry told WDRB-FOX-41 (see video): "My husband got up early this morning about five and he heard a lot of people drinking. When he got up to let the dog out, the trash was out of the trash can, and there was a man sleeping in the trash can." The Jeffersonville Police were called.
When police arrived, they surveyed the overturned trash can. Inside, they found the city attorney, Larry Wilder. The responding police officer then escorted Wilder across the street to his residence. Evidently, no criminal charges have been filed.
WDRB reports that Wilder is well known in southern Indiana and Louisville legal circles and has had high-profile clients over the years. This, in addition to being the Jeffersonville Indiana City attorney.
In a later interview with Fox 41's Stephan Johnson, Wilder said he couldnt remember much about Tuesday night. "The limo came and picked me up, and we went to Jeff Ruby's for dinner," said Wilder, adding that he "Had some drinks at Jeff Ruby's. Quite frankly, I have little recollection of anything after that."
But, lets not rush to judgment. In all fairness to our esteemed Hoosier colleague, we have yet to hear the rest of his side of the story. We bet its a good one.
Cheers!
Just another reason why I love living in Indiana!

There I was, walking, down, the street, minding my own business, when I heard this little meow sound coming out of the garbage can. I looked inside and a little kitten was there, too little to get out. So I leaned over to move the garbage out of the way. There must have been a copy of Al Gores climate book in there because I was suddenly overcome by this horrible stench. I blacked out. The little kitten must have climbed up my back and gotten out. Honest, your honor.
parsy, who is good at this sort of stuff
I thought and still think I drink to much but good lord, my wife has never pulled me from the trash can.
I have spent many, many months at sea and have been severely intoxicated when hitting port but I never got so drunk I spent the night in a trash can. However, I am not a lawyer. My work was honest.
I guess he couldn’t find his way...”Back home in Indiana.”
LOL!!!!!!!! Oh well, he did get ‘close’. :^)

As the old saying goes, if you fail at selling cars or raping babies, you can always become a lawyer.
Any port in a storm.
This is one time when trash is REALLY trash.
Barca Velha, good at sea and good on land.
I’ve been trashed before but...wonder if he’ll get canned?
Men at work.
“Aww lookie there. Somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy.”
Next time he defends some piece of trash in court he can honestly say “I’ve been there!”
There, but for the grace of god......
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
This tops my two old buddies stories.
One walked into his neighbors house and passed out in the neighbors bed with him sleeping in it.
The other stumbled into his neighbors house and was found passed out on his toilet.
That last one made the local paper. he was pretty imbarresed.
the dude did have a problem though.
on one charted bus trip to Montreal he passed out drunk in the center isle at 8:30 in the morning with people stepping over him for tne next 4 hours.
Ah, Those were the fun days...
At least there isn’t any “residue” on his backside.
Was there any mention of his political party affiliation???? Just wondering.
You don’t see that everyday! Too funny.
ping
ROTFLOL: that one came out of left field and was unexpected....
That was the best line in the movie. In that case it was a sleazy politician in the trash.
Loud chugging or slurping sounds?
It wasnt even trash pick up day.
