BITTER William Ireland is taking revenge on the dad he says abandoned him as a child - by auctioning his ashes on eBay.
William, 50, claims he was six when dad Ken left his mum and broke contact to start a new life. He later tracked him down.
The bidding for his ashes starts at 99p. William said: "I spent a lot of childhood pining for dad.

"When I found him we started seeing each other then he died in 2006. I found out his estate was going to the woman he left my mother for and their son.
"I thought he might have made it up to me. Obviously he never cared."
William, of Atherstone, Warks, got the ashes after paying for the funeral.
Ken's wife and family are thought to want them back. The ad suggests turning the carbon in the ashes into a diamond.
It reads: "Here are the ashes of my father, Kenneth Ireland, an adulterer who left a wife, two children and just £17 in her pocket. He never paid a penny towards his kids' upbringing."
If this story is true... wow what a jerk. And they got the hook for paying for the funeral? Yuck.
How soon until this Ebay listing is pulled?
what a waste of energy and the rest of his life....Fool
If he had to pay for the funeral, the “estate” wouldn’t have helped much in “making up” anyway. Wonder why wife #2 doesn’t want the ashes?
The article said she probably does. He only got the ashes because he paid for the funeral. Different country- different rules, I guess.
I think he wants her to pony up for his ashes, that way he will get a little bit of money.
Certainly holding on to that anger for all these years isn’t healthy. I hope this gives him some closure but he really needs to just let go.
There is very little carbon in the "ashes" which are actually the left over bony material that doesn't fully burn up. Most of the carbon in a human body is driven off during the cremation.

i dunno... the phrase “get over it” is screaming in my head
Same here.
Like father like son.
I would keep them and sprinkle a few into my toilet each time I used it., but that’s just me.
That’s a typical Fathers Day message from contemporary political parties going through menopause. ;-)
But I did find:
"send your ashes to be scattered in Ireland, anywhere of your choice, get scattered with the Irish breeze,
short video taken also and sent to you,
cost = 200euro
contact; pete for more info"
HAHAHA!
And his father's other family had to have known William was left nothing.
So once again, "no good deed goes unpunished".

The apple didn’t fall from the tree after all.
Agree but he thinks it will make him FEEL better.
I know of a few people with bad fathers who after the passing decided to pour the old man a drink on his grave after first running it through their kidneys....
There’s a chance this angry little boy will grow up one day and come to terms with the man who was his father. Regrets can last a long time.
I wonder how much “elder abuse” is just delayed payback.
After all, what goes around comes around.
Sadly, in my extended family, a cousin left his wife and four children after 25 years of marriage...
..and a son in law's dad left when he was 13 & really needing a father....
..to sil's credit he has let it go (as much as he can) but I believe his brother still won't speak to his dad..
It happens.....it's tragic....but it happens.
Ebay does not allow the sale of human remains, so this is just an attention-whore moment.

Odd choice of words, isn't it? I suppose I could arrange in advance to send my ashes to Ireland. But certainly, the video will do me no good whatsoever!
short video taken also and sent to you,
Poor fool never learned that when you hate someone, the only one it hurts is you.
Let it go already.
Sure! Why deprive one's self of peace by hanging onto bitterness?
Yet, having a mother and father who were always there for me, where do I get the right to tell this man to "get over it"? I can't even relate.
Can you?
