During Game 5 of the Playoffs last week, Tyrese Gibson decided to change the words of the National Anthem -- and now he realizes what a colossal mistake that really was.
Gibson was booed hardcore after he replaced the line "our flag was still there" with "our Lakers were still there," and when we asked about his version last night, dude turned deathly serious and extremely apologetic.
There's only one national anthem
I thought he gave a good and sincere apology. I looked on Youtube, but I couldn’t find video of this either.
This shows a mindset beyond redemption.
Ending the National Anthem with “land of the free and the home of the [insert sports team nickname]” has become more frequent, IMHO.
It is a loathsome thing to do, and I think it is fair to say that those who do are truly “un-American.”
It is why, for instance, I will never, ever root for the Kansas City Chiefs. Their moron fans even do it at K.C. Royals baseball games.
