Liberals always trot out this "Emperor's new clothes" excuse to explain away the fact that there are actually people who think their man is a jackass.
Jimmy Carter was too intellectual for most Americans to appreciate. John Kerry's awesome intellect was too advanced for most Americans to grasp. Al Gore's inability to connect with many Americans was due mainly to his absolutely incredible grasp of the important issues facing the globe.
If you can't see how insanely brilliant these men are, you are obviously lacking the necessary brains. The fact that every welfare-sucking moron who can't hold a job, or finds himself in and out of prison for petty crimes, can appreciate their greatness really means you need to get smarter.
