First Christian UFO-alien symposium
Examiner ^ | 3/11/2009 | Roger Marsh

Posted on 03/12/2009 12:25:52 PM PDT by SonOfDarkSkies

UFOs and aliens may not neatly match the Hollywood depiction of advanced races from far off planets reaching us through worm holes or inter-dimensional portals. Daily sightings of anomalous airborn crafts worldwide and accounts of alien abduction might find an explanation in something as handy as your Bible.

The aliens may indeed be fallen angels.

The very first Christian symposium on aliens will address this idea July 3-5, organized by Guy Malone, author and co-founder of Alien Resistence - an organization that studies Biblical ideas on the UFO and alien abduction phenomena.

First Christian UFO-alien symposium

Biblical art from AlienResistance.org.

Malone’s “In a Nutshell” web page at alienresistence.org walks readers through a quick explanation - citting Biblical chapter and verse.

“The Bible contains relevant information about what many believe to be a recent phenomenon, that neither most modern churches, nor most modern ufologists, are well informed about,” Malone says on his web site.

“Of those that are, many are simply not comfortable with teaching on the subject. Others intentionally repress the information they do have - often for financial gain, to avoid controversy, or to advance an agenda.”

Malone moved to Roswell, NM, home to the famous UFO crash at Roswell, “very simply to be in the Roswell mecca that it is.” Malone came as a Christian missionary with him “to oppose the doctrines prevalent in the UFO field so that people could understand the Biblical perspective.”

This first Christian symposium on alien abduction, he believes, will gather together an elite team of authors and PhDs who are noted Christian experts for the UFO phenomena. They will present a strong case with evidence that what Hollywood depicts as interplanetary travelers - are actually fallen angels.

The speaker line-up is impressive.

July 3, 2009

Lynn Marzulli, D. Min - “The UFO Phenomena is Real, Burgeoning, and Not Going Away”

Marzulli is the author of the fictional Nephilim Trilogy (published by Zondervan) and the non-fiction Politics, Prophecy and The Supernatural. He holds an honorary doctorate (D. Min.) from Pacific International University for his research on Nephilim.

Marzulli has researched the topic of UFO cults in depth, which became the basis for his the Nephilim Trilogy. His research has convinced him that serious spiritual deception is going on, and many people are falling under its spell. He wrote the trilogy to help people understand the spiritual dimensions of the whole UFO phenomenon, which he sees as part of the end times prophesied in The Book of Revelation, The Book of Daniel, and elsewhere in the Bible. He emphasizes that “The present political landscape is in direct correlation to supernatural events, that happened, in some cases, millennia ago.”

Michael S. Heiser, PhD - “Why an Extra-Terrestrial God Appeals to Today’s Culture”

Heiser earned the M.A. and Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. Before attending the UW-Madison, Mike earned an M.A. in Ancient History from the University of Pennsylvania (major fields: Ancient Israel and Egyptology). Mike was hired as the Academic Editor of Logos Bible Software shortly after completing his Ph.D. Before joining Logos, Mike spent 12 years teaching biblical studies, history, and biblical languages on the undergraduate level. As Academic Editor for Logos, Mike is responsible for targeting and evaluating potential data projects for scholarly products, overseeing existing academic projects, and participating in creating academic content for the software.

Mike’s other academic interests include paranormal and occult religions and western esotericism. He is particularly interested in how these worldviews and traditions have historically drawn on biblical and ancient Near Eastern material and in turn influenced biblical interpretation on the popular level. He has become well known through numerous radio appearances for his critiques of “parababble” and inside-the-box religious thinking. He is best known to popular audiences for his paranormal thriller, The Facade, which intertwines many of his interests.

William Alnor, PhD - “Aliens & Demonology: A Study Throughout History and Scripture”

William Alnor, PhD is the author of four books: Soothsayers of the Second Advent; UFOs in the New Age; Heaven Can’t Wait: A Survey of Alleged Trips to the Other Side, and UFO Cults and the New Millennium. He has also authored hundreds of articles and investigative reports in many magazines and journals. He has appeared on numerous radio and television shows including 20/20, Inside Edition and A Current Affair. Formerly a professor at Texas A&M University (directing the journalism program) he now teaches at Cal State, East Bay in Hayward, California. He oversees the work of the Christian Sentinel’s publications and ministry.

While working on his graduate degrees, he planted a church that became Calvary Chapel Living Waters of the Lehigh Valley in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is the former executive director of EMNR (Evangelical Ministries to New Religions) and coordinated two successful national conferences on cults and false religious movements. He is the former news editor of the Christian Research Journal under the directorship of the late Walter Martin, the original Bible Answer Man and the former editor of National and International Religion Report.

July 4, 2009

9 a.m., Joe Jordan - “Unholy Communion : The Spiritual Nature of Abduction Reports”

Jordan is the MUFON State Section Director for Brevard County, Florida, home of the Kennedy Space Center. Joe has been involved in the field of Ufology for 16 years, joining MUFON in 1993. It wasn’t long before Joe began to see that to get to the truth of the UFO phenomenon you would need to get to the closest point of contact, the abduction experiencers. in 1994 he co-founded CE4 Research Group to expand his research and document the findings of his work with the alien abduction experience. His findings will challenge your preconceived notions.

He served as conference coordinator for the city of Roswell, organizing the 2008 Roswell UFO Conference.

Jordan is employed by Sea Ray Boat Company in Merritt Island Florida.Joe is an Environmental, Health, and Safety representative for their Product Development and Engineering facility.

10:45 a.m., Guy Malone - “ET’s Message To Humanity - A False Gospel”

Malone began his ministry in the UFO field spurred by the mass-suicide of the Heaven’s Gate UFO cult. He is best known as author of Come Sail Away : UFO Phenomenon & The Bible and - after moving to Roswell in 1999 - as co-founder (with Joe Jordan and Chris Ward) of Alien Resistance, an organization dedicated to offering Biblical perspectives on the UFO / Abduction phenomena.

Malone has organized several successful conferences in Roswell which affirm the more credible aspects of UFO and abduction research, and investigates such reports from an evangelical perspective. In 2007 he served as conference coordinator for the city of Roswell’s 60th Anniversary.

Malone lives in Roswell with his wife, and together they continue the work. This is his sixth UFO themed conference to produce, introducing attendees to the idea that the phenomena is spiritual in nature. This 2009 event is produced without “opposing” or “secular” views, and targeted primarily for the benefit of equipping the church for ministry to those whose belief systems are being drawn to New Age and/or UFO-themed religious views.

1:15 p.m., Chris Ward, D Min - “Ministry to the UFO Community; One Pastor’s Story”

Ward is currently the senior pastor of Logos Christian Fellowship and an alumnus of Golden State School of Theology. He is an Innovative Learning Specialist for the Lake County School Board, and author of Case Files of an Internet Exorcist. Ward began his Internet outreach with The Exorcist Files in July of 1998. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in all of his post-graduate programs. In addition, he has attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) on a grant from the National Science Foundation, in Computer Equity. He is currently dual enrolled at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Nova Southeartern University for a Doctorate (Ed.D) in Instructional Technology and Distance Education.

He has been the host of numerous radio talk shows including The Exorcist Files and Chapel Time. He has been Teacher of the Year twice in Lake County, Florida.

2:30 p.m., Nicole & Guy Malone - “Bible Physics & The Abilities of Fallen Angels”

Nicole Malone aka Paradox Brown, is the author of A Modern Guide to Demons and Fallen Angels, which includes an overview of the powers and abilities these entities exhibit.

She does volunteer work at Alien Resistance, including the Alien Resistance Christian Lending Library, and has appeared on The Cursed Net, Area 33, and Live From Roswell internet radio shows.

3:45 p.m., Gary Bates - “Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection”

Bates has been speaking on the creation/evolution issue since 1990. From owning and operating his own businesses for many years, and as the former leader of the Western Australian Support Group, he now works full-time for Creation Ministries International (Australia) as the Head of Ministry. Once a convinced evolutionist, Gary is now a young-earth creationist with a heart to communicate to the average “person in the street.”

In recent years, Gary has undertaken specialist research into the UFO phenomenon and associated extraterrestrial beliefs. Gary has written the Amazon.com top 50 bestseller Alien Intrusion : UFOs and the Evolution Connection. This unique book provides biblical answers to the puzzling questions regarding UFOs and life on other planets. Gary is also on the editorial staff and a regular contributor to Creation magazine.

July 5

10:15 a.m., Mike Bennett, PhD - “Communications with Non-Terrestrial Beings: Biblical & Historical Warnings”

Bennett has spent a career in the sciences, serving as a leader in a governmental aerospace laboratory, as well as operating his own successful technology development enterprise. He received his Ph.D in engineering in 2003, after ending a 10 year education hiatus while working. He served as a leader in a military lab for 16 years, developing protection technologies and other weird science contraptions.

Since 2003, he has operated his own company, which combined technology development and consulting for military, governmental and commercial organizations, with his own in-house development of novel protection technologies. These technologies, invented and patented by Dr. Future, have been a major success in the marketplace, currently protecting police cars, race cars and military vehicles, and soon to include commerical buildings. He currently hosts the weekly radio show “Future Quake,” under the radio moniker of “Doctor Future.” This show can be heard every Tuesday evening from 8 to 10 p.m. CST, live from the studios of WRFN 98.9 FM in Nashville, TN.

In 2008, Bennett was invited to speak at a United Nations and World Council of Churches-sponsored international conference in Montreal, Canada, with the conference theme of “Reconnecting Heaven and Earth, in Spirit, Space and the Human Psyche.” This group has also created a new, ecumenical religious order called “The Order of the Transfiguration,” an “ecumenical order with links to the United Nations and the World Council of Churches”, which studies “apparitions, post-mortem contacts with dead saints, invocations of saints and angels,” amongst other things, which “is dedicated as a ‘mid-wife’ of a New Humanity in a New World Order. Bennett was (somehow, miraculously!) the ONLY evangelical Christian invited to present at this conference. He (somehow, miraculously!) escaped with his life, and will be repeating this lecture at our conference.

July 5th, 2009 The First Christian Symposium on Aliens

Audience Q&A Welcomed, plus a “Pastor’s Hour” - church leaders from the city of Roswell are invited to pose their questions on the alien phenomena to this panel.

About Stephen Yulish, PhD

Yulish was always interested in UFOs and was a member of NICAP and APRO in the 1960s after reading Project Bluebook. He studied astronomy and exobiology at Case Western Reserve University and graduated in 1969.

He eventually became a History Professor at The University of Arizona for seven years where he visited Allen Hyneck’s Tucson group. He became interested in Bible Prophecy after he had a headon collision with Jesus Christ in 1988. He is presently disabled with MS and writes about endtime scenarios.

Recently published in UFO Digest: Abductions Stopped In Jesus Name!

This event is free to the public to attend, but organizers warn that Roswell is typically packed on UFO Festival Weekend. Pre-register to ensure guaranteed seating by pre-ordering the two DVD set containing July 4 lectures (5 lectures on 1 DVD) and July 5th symposium. You can order online here.

THANKS THANKS.

Doubt I’ll be able to make the trip down. Though my Aunt at Las Cruces would dearly love to see me as I would to see her and her family.

The DVD’s are certainly worth it, no doubt.

I have the ones from an earlier conference Guy had on the topic.

They are top flight experts and analyses.

Guy is a top flight sort of guy. He has tons of my respect.

Hmmm..., this name — Michael S. Heiser, PhD — I recognize. I’ve communicated with him on Chuck Missler’s member boards. He’s well-regarded there and has a lot of materials about those angels...

It’s interesting and I do think that Genesis 6 is about the fallen angels cohabiting with women on earth. It appears to be “solid” in regards to the text itself and its meaning, and what it has meant to Jewish scholars in the past centuries, not to say anything about a significant number of Christian scholars, too...

People are seeing and photographing them all over the world almost everyday. Either the governments of the world are messing with us or UFOs and aliens might be reality. The evidence is mounting with the avent of things like video cameras and phones. Flip your phone, press a button and zip you have a photo. My mind is open. I wouldn’t be surprised if either they were the product of a terrestrial black ops program or from another planet.

THOSE FLYING SAUCERS

(Cy Coben-Charlie Green, 1947)

You’d better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day
It’s a sign there’s no doubt of the trouble that’s about
So I say my friends you’d better start to pray

They’re a terrifying sight as they fly on day and night
It’s a warning that we’d better mend our ways
You’d better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day

Many people think the saucers might be someone’s foolish dream
Or maybe they were sent down here from Mars
If you’ll just stop and think you’d realize just what it means
They’re more than atom bombs or falling stars

And though the war may be through there’s unrest and trouble brewin’
And those flying saucers may be just a sign
That if peace doesn’t come it will be the end of some
So repent today, you’re running out of time

When you see a saucer fly like a comet through the sky
You should realize the price you’ll have to pay
You’d better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day

The Buchanan Brothers, RCA Victor 20-2385, 1947

You said — “Interesting concept.”

It’s really been a long-established idea in the Christian community, and not a “Johnny-come-lately” one...

I’m talking about the connection between the supposed “alien sightings” (of craft and/or any other kind of supposed “alien” interaction). There has always been a “religious nature” to a lot of this, which has been peculiar, in a simply secular sense, but not peculiar if you connect it with the evil and fallen angels.

But, the connection for the fallen angels cohabiting with women on earth is an idea that has *very long standing* — going back millennia and continuing into the present, with Christians. Although there are Christians who totally reject this — it’s because they *can’t stomach* the very idea itself and it’s too repulsive to them, and so they *invent* all sorts of contorted ideas (from the text) to say *anything* — other than what the text of the Bible says about this.

It’s not new... definitely...

And, I have all his DVD’s. At least that he’d produced at that time.

I doubt I’ll be able to go to this one. Have a LOT of irons in the fire for this summer.

And it is a very long drive, to me. And not that interesting a one! LOL.

Would love to go if it weren’t so far.

Thanks for the bump and for asking.

He’s worth a significant donation above production costs and handling.

Mike Heiser has an M.A. and Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages from the University of Wisconsin. He has done a lot of work trying to understand the ancient texts.

I read his book "Facade"...it was OK but not great. He is probably much better at scholarly writing than fiction.

Yep! It is interesting.

Read the Book of Enoch (available online) and then reread Genesis 6 and the Book of Jude.

Enoch (though pseudepigraphal, it was found with the Dead Sea Scrolls) sheds a lot of light on the canonical books.

Yeah, I’ve read some of his material, but not the his book, Facade. If I remember right, he talks about the “council of gods” quite a bit. And initially it raised concerns in my mind about it. I asked him about his faithfulness to the Word of God, in its doctrine and teachings and he claims to be solidly conservative, Biblical, Evangelical and adhering to all the essential and basic doctrines of Christianity.

But, the “council of gods” thing was somewhat a departure from other scholarship, though...

As far as the DVDs, I found out that they are $29.50 for a set of two...

Well, I looked at that page for the Christian Symposium on Aliens...
http://www.christiansymposium.com/

And I see that they’ve got a place for people to stay, at the Best Western...

BUT, I was there in Roswell, a little while back, looking around and I stayed just a few blocks from there, at the Holiday Inn Express (great place to stay, by the way...).

And so, while I didn’t know a thing about UFOs or the alien abductions and the Nephilim before I got there, when I woke up the next day after staying at the Holiday Inn Express — I knew everything that I needed to know... :-)

You said — “Yep, not sure where he gets that “council of gods” stuff. Sounds like vivid imagination or reading between the lines...or a little of both.”

The posters over at Chuck Missler’s member’s forum discuss this quite a bit. And, apparently, Mike Heiser, is held in high regard. He does have something to do with a popular computer program, too — Bible software (can’t remember the name of it now).

And a lot of people seem to have “bought into it” without any problem, over at Chuck Missler’s forum site.

I will say this, that Mike Heiser doesn’t apparently just pull this “out of his hat” like a rabbit trick, out of nothing. He’s apparently done a lot of research on the matter and has presented “papers” on it, and a lot of it is far beyond what I can really get into.

I just feel that I don’t have the *complete grasp* of where he’s going with this idea, so I’m reluctant to “buy into it” at the present time...

Yes I think everyone concerned is pondering the evidence that Aliens just might well be FALLEN ANGELS....

You are certainly correct about Heiser's thorough scholarship and perhaps I spoke to hastily.

I don't think he would draw such conclusions without substantial effort. That said, I personally know nothing of that subject.

Let me know if remember the name of that computer software that Heiser is working with. I would be interested in digging into it.

ANOTHER TAKE — on the UFOs of the time...

I just got finished downloading a bunch of Billboard Top 100 songs (or Top 30, depending on the year), for the 50s...

I just listened to this one (and I remember it from back then...)...

The Purple People Eater
By Sheb Wooley
Released 6/2/1958

Well I saw the thing comin’ out of the sky
It had the one long horn, one big eye
I commenced to shakin’ and I said ooh-eee
It looks like a purple eater to me

It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin’ purple people eater

A one-eyed, one-horned, flyin purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me

Well he came down to earth and he lit in a tree
I said Mr. Purple People Eater, dont eat me
I heard him say in a voice so gruff

It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin purple people eater
One-eyed, one-horned flyin purple people eater
One-eyed, one-horned, flyin purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me

I said Mr. Purple People Eater, what’s your line
He said it’s eatin’ purple people and it sure is fine
But that’s not the reason that I came to land

Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin’ purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin’ purple people eater

Flyin purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me

And then he swung from the tree and he lit on the ground
He started to rock, really rockin around
It was a crazy ditty with a swingin tune

Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin purple people eater

Flyin little people eater
Sure looks strange to me

And then he went on his way, and then what do ya know
I saw him last night on a TV show
He was blowing it out, areally knockin em dead
Playin rock and roll music through the horn in his head

Tequila

Listening to it again, now...

You said — “Let me know if remember the name of that computer software that Heiser is working with. I would be interested in digging into it.”

Logos Bible Software

See the following from - http://www.michaelsheiser.com/

Mike Heiser earned the M.A. and Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. Before attending the UW-Madison, Mike earned an M.A. in Ancient History from the University of Pennsylvania (major fields: Ancient Israel and Egyptology). Mike was hired as the Academic Editor of Logos Bible Software shortly after completing his Ph.D. Before joining Logos, Mike spent twelve years teaching biblical studies, history, and biblical languages on the undergraduate level. Mike’s main research interests are Israelite religion (especially Israel’s divine council), contextualizing biblical theology with Israelite and ancient Near Eastern religion, biblical languages, ancient Semitic languages, textual criticism, comparative philology, and Second Temple period Jewish literature. His dissertation was entitled, “The Divine Council in Late Canonical and Non-Canonical Second Temple Jewish Literature.” The dissertation sought to discern the ancient Israelite background to Judaism’s “Two Powers in Heaven” teaching.

I prefer the Bible Software — Accordance...

Here’s another one from 1956 (been listening to those oldies... ).

It’s a compilation of short segments of other popular songs, inserted into a dialog, to fit the story-line It’s funny...

Flying Saucer
by Buchanan & Goodman
Released 8/4/1956

We interrupt this record
To bring you a special bulletin
The reports of a flying saucer
Hovering over the city
Have been confirmed
The flying saucers are real

(Too real when I feel
What my heart can’t conceal)

That was The Clatters
Recording, Too Real
We switch you now to our
On the spot reporter downtown

(Come on, baby
Let’s go downtown)

Take it away
John Cameron Cameron

This is John
Cameron Cameron downtown
Pardon me, madam
Would you tell our audience
What would you do if
The saucer were to land

(Duck back in the alley)

Thank you and now
The thin gentleman there

(What I’m gonna do
Is hard to tell)

And the gentleman
With the guitar
What would you do, sir

(Just take a walk
Down lonely street)

Thank you
We return you now...

This is Drak
Your outer space disc jockey
With a request for earth

(Earth angel, earth angel)

That was The Pelicans outer
Space recording, Earth
I’ve just been handed a bulletin
The flying saucer has just landed
We switch you again downtown

Here we are again
We have with us Professor
Sir Cedric Pentingmode
Of the British Institute
And the professor is approaching
The saucer to see if there’s
Possibly any sign of life aboard

Well, I’m sure something
Are you there

(I hear you knocking
But you can’t come in)

That was Laughing
Lewis’ record, Knocking

This is John Cameron
Cameron on the spot
And now I believe we’re
About to hear the words of
The first spaceman ever
To land on Earth

(Womp bop a loo bop
A lomp bam boom)

And now here are the ball scores
Four to three, six to two
And eight to one

The impact of seeing
The first spaceman has
This reporter reeling

(Here I go reeling
Uh-oh, uh-oh...)

That was The Clatters again
With their big one, Uh-Oh

This is John Cameron
Cameron again downtown
The spaceman has returned
To his ship and is taking off
We return you now to our studios

The flying saucer has gone
There is no threat of an invasion
However, the flying saucers
Are still around

(Still around)

We are not going
To interrupt this record
Yes, we are

The flying saucer
Has landed again
Washington, The Secretary
Of Defense has just said

(Ain’t that a shame)

That was Skinny Dynamo’s
Record, That’s A Shame

This is John Cameron
Cameron, part two
Gathered around me are
Several of the spacemen
Tell us, have you come
To conquer the world

And now would you
Repeat that in English

(Don’t want the world
To have and hold)

Hey, why don’t you go back
Where you came from

(Don’t be angry
And drive me away)

We return you now
To our studios

Here is a news item
From Washington
The President has just
Issued a statement to the
Spacemen and we quote

(You can do anything
But lay off of my
Blue suede shoes)

That was Pa Gherkins record, Shoes
We switch you again downtown

This is John Cameron
Cameron downtown
Professor Sir Cedric of
The British Institute
Tell us how were
The saucers able to land

Well, you see..

(The motor cooled down
The heat went down)

That was Huckle Berry’s recording
The Moter Cooled Down

This is John Cameron
Cameron again
I believe the spaceman has
A final parting word

(See you later, alligator)

We return you now
To our studios

The spacemen have gone again
But look to the skies
The saucers will
Always be there

(Always be there)

Goodbye, earth people

These songs in the 50s were probably generated by the “1952 Washington DC UFO incident”....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1952_Washington_D.C._UFO_incident

The 1952 Washington D.C. UFO incident, also known as the Washington flap or the Washington National Airport Sightings, was a series of unidentified flying object reports from July 13 to July 29, 1952, over Washington D.C. The most publicized sightings took place on consecutive weekends, July 19–20 and July 26–27.

Longtime ufologist Richard H. Hall, who served as the assistant director of NICAP and as the director of the Fund for UFO Research, writes:

The summer 1952 UFO sighting wave was one of the largest of all time, and arguably the most significant of all time in terms of the credible reports and hardcore scientific data obtained.”

The Genesis

Let US make man in OUR image has always been a bit of a puzzle to Jews and Christians alike.

The Trinity helps . . .

And then there’s the Bible ref to: “The 7 fold spirits of God”

That’s exactly right. That issue/question was raised in that Missler member forum (in connection with the “council of gods”) and that’s the answer I gave. It’s the “Trinity” speaking...

Some had been wondering, in light of Mike Heiser’s “council of gods” if it was “this council” that was speaking that...

imho,

Scripture does not give us enough info to be very dogmatic or specifically clear about such phrases.

GOD ALMIGHTY

IS

GOD ALMIGHTY

That’s sufficient, for me.

Well, that’s where Mike Heiser gets into a lot of the original language and what it means. And he *maintains* (for himself... :-) ...) that he is an expert in the matter of the language (and I’m sure he is...). But, he could still be wrong.

His contention is the the Trinity is one thing, but the council of gods is another. And that council of gods is a group of powerful angels (created beings, but powerful). And they meet in Heaven and have some sort of power over things (perhaps “governmental functions” — not clear on that...).

Anyway, it’s clear that it’s God who makes man — and not “other created beings” who make man....

I would think that this is pretty clear, in light of the fact of what John Chapter One says about Christ...

This is what I was referring to in John...

John 1:1-3

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 He was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

In verse three, that’s the specific thing that refers to Jesus Christ as the one who made all things and nothing “that was made” — was made without Him.

Therefore, it can’t be the “council of gods” since they are not the Trinity, and they consist of angels (created beings). Thus, who is speaking in Genesis, is the Trinity...

“Purple People Eater” inspired a number of follow-ups, including “Cuban Purple People Eater” by Rene Touzet, which is essentially the same song, although the Cuban critter wears pantalones instead of short shorts and eats picadillo. He ends the song by shouting “Bacardi!”—still being made in pre-castro Cuba—instead of “Tequila!”

In “Bo Meets the Monster,” Bo Diddley recounts how a hideous Purple People Eater swept his girlfriend off into outer space—but the critter also saved Santa Claus from a Soviet Sputnik satellite in Sheb Woolley’s “Santa Meets the Purple People Eater.”

I especially like Buchanan & Goodman’s “The Flying Saucer Goes West” (1958), in which the space men threaten to destroy the Old West until General Elvis Presley and the Army ride in to save the day.

I am rereading Enoch...and its amazing how things centuries ago fill in spots in the here and now...on wondering what do you think about Nostradamus and his many quatrains? do you think they are relavite to these times.?

I have never known what exactly to think of Nostradamus. He’s not a religious prophet (i.e. he isn’t speaking for God) yet he does seem to get awfully close to predicting some events.
