Mr. Pitt is going Washington.

Nancy Pelosi's office says Brad Pitt is set to meet with the Speaker of the House on Thursday to discuss the 45-year-old actor's charity efforts in New Orleans.

Pitt founded "Make It Right" in 2007 to help build environmentally sustainable housing for low-income residents in New Orleans who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina. He was nominated for a best-actor Oscar for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Speaking of New Orleans and Katrina and re-building, did New Orleans get big bucks from the Porkulus bill?

After listening to so much outrage of the neglect of New Orleans under Bush, now that good Democrats are in charge at all levels in Washington, aren’t they going to re-build New Orleans back exactly the way it was before? Hasn’t it happened already? If not why not? doesn’t Barack care about Negro people in New Orleans?

Is there any viable Candidate who could squash her like a bug when her term is up? Seriously?

She is not remotely talented or intelligent. I am embarrassed that she is an elected official and the Speaker. It is a nightmare.

I am so focused on the freak show currently residing in the White House, I just don’t have the energy to invest in her at all. She is a disaster for so many reasons and for too long.

environmentally sustainable housing - biodegradable housing in an area 30 feet or so below sea level on the coast with crappy dikes. What genius!

These two are made for each other, they both putzes.

Yes, it was called Interview with the Vampire, as I noted.

I guess it’s been forgotten. As it should be. Blech!

From wikipedia:

A recent study by Tulane and Xavier University notes that 51% of New Orleans is at or above sea level, with the more densely populated areas generally on higher ground. The average elevation of the city is currently between one and two feet (0.5 m) below sea level, with some portions of the city as high as 16 feet (5 m) at the base of the river levee in Uptown and others as low as 10 feet (3 m) below sea level in the farthest reaches of Eastern New Orleans.[24]

No New Orleans is not 30 feet below sea level.

There is still something on the order of $30 billion that has NOT been spent from Katrina funds. Nobody left to claim them.
