... Barack Obama had pushed to completion one of the most impressive, if lopsided, legislative triumphs in the first three weeks of any president in history... his $787 billion economic stimulus package.
Despite vigorous outreach that included a bipartisan Super Bowl party at the White House, no Republicans voted for it, just as none approved its earlier version that cleared the chamber in January.
... the Senate began a vote that would approve the package with support from only three Republican senators.
...
And the Republican rebuke of his stimulus package, despite his energetic outreach efforts, may have taught him to define bipartisan as a change of tone, not by the number of Republican votes he won. But he didn't say that either.
...
"In terms of what I've learned on the politics of it," he said, "I think what I've learned is that I've got a great team because we moved a very big piece of legislation through Congress in record time."
His bragging rights were easily justified. You'd have to go back to Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1960s or Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1930s to find a more sweeping, more expensive and more quickly enacted package of what Republicans call "new spending" and Democrats call "new investments." ...

Yep, he’s a sap, too! Pelosi & Reid’s sap.
Should read:
Obama: I'm an opportunist, not a sap
Oh don’t sell yoyrself short Bambi ... you’re a SAP of the first order
The American left doesn't believe it has any enemies: except for other Americans and the United States.
An “optimist” is one who believes in the possibility. He believes he can be a sap if he truly has faith.
The saps are the people that voted 0 into office.
When one feels the need to point out that one is NOT a sap, the question as to whether or not one IS a sap comes to mind.
Naw, your a jack ass, Chicago gangland punk. That is what you are. Puss from a pimple.
Optimist??? Hardly. He’s extremely pessimistic and negative.
Tis a sappy protesteth too much!
yes, uses the scare tactics he accused Bush of using.
We dost protest too much! :{)
“yes, uses the scare tactics he accused Bush of using.”
Democrats have been scaring the populace for years especially the elderly and low income folks (the ones that work). Why should they change something that’s been working so well for them since the LBJ era?
That sums it up nicely.Screw the nicities.
That sums it up nicely.Screw the nicities.
...C’mon. He vigorously reached out, he held a Super Bowl party. Just like Abe Lincoln did.
Nixon: I am not a crook.
Moved it? What did he have to move?
Like he and the Politburo aren't in perfect synch, like this is Yorktown or something?
This guy has a boil on his psyche that's fist-sized.
I simply do not do nice too communists, liberals, socialists or any dimocrat. None at all.
