Is it time to dump Free Republic?

Repeatedly, FR moderators have moved TOP postings related to current NEWS and calls for conservative ACTIVISM from the News and Activism section, over to "blogger's and personal" which has no traffic by comparison.
I fully understand Jim Robinson's original purpose in launching FR, to provide a community in which conservatives could get TRUTH not available in the MSM, information not available in the MSM and access to fellow conservatives so that we could work together towards a conservative agenda.
Yet time after time, FR moderators bury this information over in "blogger's and personal" and kill story after story, vital to the conservative movement.
Why?
Without a change in this policy, I am through posting to FR. The moderators on FR have less sense than the moderators on DU, where they at least work to bury the opposition, instead of themselves.
What gives? Anyone understand this self-defeating policy?

I don't find this to be the case at all. If the thread is popular, then it is popular wherever it is posted.
And without you giving us an example of this "self defeating policy," then you come-off as somewhat of a whiner.

After FR’s apparent suspension of all rules (especially vanities) during the last election, I have no idea what the current rules are.
That said, I still love FR and I’m not going nowhere.

Care to give an example of these “TOP postings related to current NEWS and calls for conservative ACTIVISM”...
I bet they’re incoherent Orly Taitz posts.
To: PlainOleAmerican
Well I think you should. Absolutely, it’s time for you to move on.

I don’t see what the problem is. I just click on the link on the main page and get everything (all categories). I just keep refreshing so nothing is missed.
Give up FR? No way!

For one thing, it would be nice to get the very accurate foreign news reports from our retired border agents in news instead of bloggers. Articles not in the ‘news’ section, do not get any notice.

No! It is a private site. How hard is it to get the word out to check the blogs and personals?
Yes, it will be a constant informing. Still this has more traffic than many, many others and well worth staying here. It is the best IMO!
Get over yourself. No, you do not make the rules, nor do I, as it should be.

Let’s look at it like this...
If you come here to troll your own website, whether you got somethin to say or not, it should be over in bloggers and personal... You folks who come in here and post your own action, it is irritating to some because we don’t feel we have to read the fine print in an articles header. We come here for reputable news and it’s discourse.
Become famous and reputable... Then your stuff will be left up with the big guys...

All you got to do is hit the "everything" link on the right.
That lets you see ALL the posts, not just news and activism.
As for dumping Free Republic, go ahead and dump it if you would like.

I like FR, but I will admit it is harder for those of us who work all day to organize and become “activists” than it is for the opposition.
The upside is, we pay taxes and they don’t. Got to be some leverage there somehow, within the boundaries of the law. Trouble is, there are starting to be more voters who pay no taxes and/or are on the government dole than otherwise.
In summary - yes to FR, yes to more activism, no to tax moochers.

My only complaint about FR are the posting police....smugly pointing out that an article has been posted before....

Less than an hour ago, I posted this column in News and Activism, for what will be obvious reasons if you read the column.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2173546/posts
Within moments, it had hundreds of hits and was fast climbing with people beginning to comment. Moments later, the traffic died instantly, and then I noticed it had been removed from News and Activism and dumped into Bloggers and Personal where all traffic has since died.
I then ran an FR search and see where someone else posted the same column for a different publication here...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2173565/posts
I don't know if they posted it in news first, or just went straight to bloggers. But I do know that a growing number of conservative news sites are frustrated by the fact that their works are dumped into “bloggers” and MSM leftist drivel is considered “news” on FR....???
I have had this experience over and over again... Why? As for sounding like a “whiner” - your screen name is appropriate... "one rude child"
