Okay folks, sorry for the vanity, but I need some advice here.
My children (daughter 9 son 7) go to a Parochial School, and this morning my daughter mentioned that they pray every morning for Obama. I asked her if they used to pray for W and she said, “no, never.”
Then I said, well, maybe it’s because he’s just starting, to which she responded that they’ve been praying for “The One” since November.
Now, of course, instinctively, I have a problem with this, because it’s naked partisanship, but what’s the remedy? Asking that he not be prayed for anymore doesn’t seem very Christian. Should I ask that Republicans be prayed for too? Maybe that makes me the partisan? Should I ask that something be tacked on about “and that President Obama sees the wrongs of his ways and stops allowing people to kill babies.”? This is a grade school, so I’m not sure that’s appropriate.
As it stands, I’m a little ticked off here and want to get some rational thoughts and suggestions, so anything is much appreciated!

Take your childeren and your dollars elsewhere.
From my experience, when it comes to school, there’s no place like home.
Time to go lawyer shopping. If you let it go on you might have the appearance of agreeing with it.
Take them out
I would have a chat with the principal and find out the nature of the prayer. Is it a general “guide our new president and give him guidance” type prayer or a “rain blessings down on our new beloved leader’ type prayer? And then I would ask why this hasn’t been done before and if it will continue with the next president, regardless of his color or party affiliation.

Homes school. Then you can pray for whoever you want.
Go and listen to the prayer.
I lean toward the ‘stop killing babies’ option.
That little addition you would like tacked on MAY BE the very reason behind the prayer. Be brave. Talk to the teacher about it.
Ask the school to add the military while praying...if they say no....then ask them to stop praying for the military’s boss.

I pray for his health too. Have you seen VP Biden in action lately?
No clue what to do. My first reaction would have landed you in jail.
If home schooling is an option, that may well be the best course.
You can ask why the change in policy about praying for the President. You’ll get a BS answer back like, “we realized we hadn’t been and now we’ve corrected that oversight,” but at least they’ll know someone noticed. That will also give you the opportunity to point out how Chairman Hussein’s policies are pro-abortion and not pro-life. That will spin up someone for sure.
Nothing wrong with praying for our leaders, but this Obama-worship has gotten out of control. What on Earth has he done to deserve any of this?
Go to school and listen to the prayer. If you’re uncomfortable with it, suggest to the folks that the class pray for “our country’s leaders,” in general, and, of course, those who defend us.

Per the home schooling, probably not an option. I definitely need to keep my job (military/law enforcement) and the wife has a critical job with a severe shortage of wrokers as well.
Per the lawyers - I’m missing something, I don’t see what the grounds would be for litigation?

What is so bad about naked partisanship? It’s human nature.
It depends on the content of the prayer. Perhaps they are praying that God will change zero’s black heart and prevent his signing FOCA.
