NOTE: For those who don't get it, Jesus is not rooting for any particular team. When players say that they thank God or say they thank Jesus, they are thanking our Creator for giving them the strength to use the talent God gave them and to be the best they can be.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- That's not a mirage rising out of the desert, folks. It's the Arizona Cardinals soaring to their first Super Bowl.
Yes, the Cardinals, founding members of the NFL, but historically among the most dysfunctional of franchises, finally have joined the big boys. Capitalizing on Larry Fitzgerald's three first-half touchdown receptions, then coolly marching downfield to Kurt Warner's 8-yard scoring pass to rookie Tim Hightower with 2:53 left, they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 32-25 Sunday for the NFC championship.

Warner is a class act and Fitzgerald was incredible. This may put Warner in the Hall of Fame.
Kurt Warner is STILL probably the most popular athlete here in St. Louis. All of St. Louis is going to be rooting for him in the Super Bowl.
He also ought to thank that Back Judge who missed the pass interference on Philly's 4th and 10.
Yep, always liked Warner. I live just across the river from St. Louis.
Now we get to watch a thug named Ray Lewis. Quite the opposite of Warner.
Was sorry he had to say that his thanks to Jesus would be unwelcome by some.
The man deserves his success and has the right to thank his Lord.
Probably the most exciting game of the playoffs, IMO.
I’m glad the media was unable to censor Kurt Warner’s Christian testimony this time. His is one of the most remarkable biographies in sports, from his record-breaking performances in St. Louis after playing for an obscure college and being passed over by the NFL, to his rebirth this season in Arizona. I’ll be rooting for the Cardinals.

“He also ought to thank that Back Judge who missed the pass interference on Philly’s 4th and 10”
That one was a tough call. I think the official was right in not calling interference because I don’t think the receiver would have caught the pass anyway.
Go Cardinals!!!!Your history for me Raiders.
How about a nice, big cheesesteak to go with that whine?
History has shown that during the playoffs pass interference has to be VERY flagrant in order to get called. That’s ok by me...
Warner already belongs in the Hall of Fame IMO, but I hope he and the Cards win the SB to cement his HOF status.
Warner had a QB rating of 145.7
Actually I personally think Jesus does care who wins, I think he even cares about insignificant things. On the other hand I think he for the most part lets those who work the hardest or have the most talent win. In other words we have freedom of will.
Again my personal belief but I think in the early days he performed more miracles and allowed his disciples to do the same in order for his good news to spread more easily. There might come a time when it is necessary again, but I don’t know.
I think he mentions somewhere that the people who were killed when the tower of Siloam fell, didn’t die because of sin but because they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As simple as that.
Fitzmas!
okay, i got to take it back, we do have a “professional” football team in AZ.
Oh man. I didn’t see the game but I taped it and now you ruined it for me. UGHH!!!!. LOL!
okay, i got to take it back, we do have a “professional” football team in AZ.
Instant communications make tape delays a real bummer....
Watch it anyway, it was a good game.
how did i manage two posts?
must be that “trigger finger”.
That is amazing!
One can always count on McNabb to come thru in the clutch.
The same can’t be said for the Cardinal’s cheapskate owner, Bill Bidwell. He remains one of the most unpopular men in St. Louis—21 years after he moved the team to Phoenix.
I was cheering for the Cards because of their Missouri roots—and the fact that the Eagles eliminated my team (the Giants) from the playoffs. But there’s little doubt the Cardinals would have been to the Super Bowl long ago, if Bidwell had sold the team to someone else.
He is probably the best all-around athlete I’ve ever seen on a football field. He’s tall, fast, can jump, long arms, huge, soft hands. He can virtually win games singlehandedly.
By far the best WR in the NFL today.
In the three playoff games his rating is 116.67
Att 92
Comp 61
pct: 0.663
Yards: 770
TDS: 8
INT: 1

The defender fell before the ball was halfway to the Eagle receiver. Isn’t it pass interference if the receiver is held and prevented from catching the ball? I don’t think it was pass interference—just another liberal excuse why the Eagles didn’t win the game!
and he communicates in ENGLISH very well too!
Buddy Ryan is finally right, “There’s a winner in town”.
The Redbirds in the Superbowl ... hell can freeze over.
Warner, not Manning, should have won the NFL’s MVP award.
Not here. He still works for Bidwell.
Uh, you do know they started out in Chicago. This was just a 28 year weigh station.
Which makes up for the ref calling an inbound ball out of bounds in the first half.
The Cardinals outplayed the McNabbs in the first half, and the McNabbs outplayed the Cardinals in the second half. The score reflects a tough, close, but well earned victory for the buzzards.
um he doesn’t really work for bidwell he’s playing without a contract
Has there been any other QB that has taken different teams to the Super Bowl? I can’t think of any off the top of my head.
I was thinking the same thing today. It seems like there is, but i can’t think of one.
Craig Morton....Dallas V, Denver XII
I was so rooting for Phoenix (R) and Pittsburgh (R) over Philadelphia (D) & Baltimore(D).
Earl Morrall took Batlimore to SB3 and then he essentially took the Dolphins to SB7.
This is a pet peeve of mine. This will NOT be the franchise's first trip to the *NFL championship*. In fact, the Cardinals WON the NFL championship when they were in it before. The only difference was, since it was 1947 (when the Cardinals were in Chicago), the game just wasn't CALLED the "Super Bowl." But it was still the NFL championship. They were lots and lots of NFL champions before the game was called "Super Bowl."
And actually, there were only four true NFL vs. AFL "Super Bowls" (1967-70), and only in the last two was the winner (Jets, Chiefs) someone different than the NFL champion.
The only QB to WIN the NFL championship for two different teams was Norm Van Brocklin, with the Rams in 1951 (although he split time with another QB) and with the Eagles in 1960,
OK thanks. I thought there was another.
Warner has done a tremendous job. But Peyton was just as deserving for the MVP as without him the Colts would not have made it to the playoffs. No way. No chance. Not even close.
Too bad the Colt’s defense lost the game for them, or they would have been playing this weekend too.
I’m hoping Warner and the Cards win the big prize. Great story, and he’s a great witness for the Lord too.
Browns fans from coast to coast were ecstatic about this for about 20 seconds until they realized the Steelers are back in the Super Bowl.
As far as the NFC goes I am personally happy that the Eagles choked again. I have nothing against them except that their quarterback is the classless, crybaby Donovan McNabb. He will probably blame Rush Limbaugh for the loss.
I'm sure ESPN’s Tom Jackson is just sick over the fact that his main squeeze McNabb is a loser again.
