NORMAL, Ill. (AP) - Wedding bells meant Taco Bell for Paul and Caragh Brooks.

Customers inside a Normal outlet of the fast-food restaurant continued to order tacos and burritos as the couple married yesterday in 1 of its booths.

Thirty-year-old groom Paul Brooks said he and his bride have an off-beat relationship and thought an off-beat setting would be appropriate.

Employees displayed hot sauce packets labeled with the words "Will you marry me?"

Twenty-1-year-old Caragh Brooks wore a $15 hot pink dress for the $200 wedding.

Well, I’m glad to hear that there are some normal people left in this country.

$200? See. I tell people they don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding but they don’t listen.

Will they be honeymooning “south of the border”?

Normal couple weds at Taco Bell

There's something rather odd about that statement.

This is very, very wrong. They should have gotten married at Steak and Shake, since it was actually FOUNDED in Normal, Illinois.

Actually doesn’t sound that bad. And I could get a #8, crunchy of course.

These days a $200 wedding sounds a lot better than these folks who spend $40,000-$60,000. I mean, not to be not romantic, but yikes ... $40,000?

(I know, I know ... typical man-thinking, LOL)

They had to fire all the editors so they could recruit reporters from Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, Gaza and Venezuela.

No you just have common sense. I think that spending that kind of money plus more on a wedding is stupid and insane and I’m a woman.

Another woman here, and I feel the same way! All that money could go into the bank, or towards a home! My husband and I got married on less than $500! And after 33 years, we couldn’t be happier and are feeling pretty comfortable.

Thank you both. Use the money for something to be longer-lasting, IMHO. Sure some of the weddings are cool but you could help the poor, get yourself on solid footing, etc.

Dittos here. Hubby and I got married for less than $200, both wearing borrowed clothing. LOL! Thirty years later...

I think maybe they’re on to something.....

Rather have a wedding and adjourn to a reception hall, and make the caterer bring everything in, have the wedding where the eats are.

How romantic - Johnny Edwards reaffirms his vows ... whoops, wrong Taco Bell couple. I’ll give Edwards one kudo: he got Mama T to ask “what was chili” in front of the national media.

The Bell needs to bring back the Frito Burrito Supreme... heck if they had it as a finger food at this wedding, I would have attended ;-)

Works for me. My husband conducted a wedding at a Pizza Hut in Joplin back in the 80’s. Even made mention by Paul Harvey.

I have no problem with $200 weddings. Couples need to save their money for divorce attorneys.

Does this mean that there are now four rings of marriage?

The engagement ring, the wedding ring, the suffering, and the onion ring.

Do they even have onion rings at Taco Bell? If not then the lame joke is ruined.

A $200 wedding? Was that for the whole enchilada?

True dat. I used to do that when my father lived with me for awhile. Though I’d usually get 6 tacos and 4 burritos.

It was actually $7.99 at the time, too.
