My middle school son has a project due which requires a survey about gun ownership.
He has a survey up here:
There are only 3 or 4 questions.
You have to have a legit email address in case the teacher checks the link, but you can certainly use a fake name.
If you have a throwaway email and would like to help him out we would greatly appreciate it. He needs a dozen or so more responses and has run out of people to ask,

Done!
I don’t think the teacher will like my answers if she/he is a liberal.
Done.
Everyone should own a gun? Nope, I know a lot of scumbags who should not own a gun.
I took the survey. I don’t like the first question; it’s not clear enough. I do NOT believe that everybody should own a gun. I DO believe that everybody should have the RIGHT to own a gun. Big difference, there.
Done ~I put my State in as my name~One of those ‘Blue’ states, should throw off the curve...lol
Done. ;)
Done
Done. I wish some of the questions had differentiated between long guns and handguns. I think just about anybody with his parents permission should be able to buy a single-shot long gun. I’m not certain about teenagers able to buy handguns. I’m open, just not certain.
The first question might better have been about the right to a weapon. Many I know would forgo the choice, and it sounded like a positive response would mean I think everyone should be required to have one.
Similarly, I believe in freedom of religion, but would not require a citizen to pick one if not so inclined.
Will the results be available to responders, of FR at large?
Done. I don’t check my throw-away e-mail often, so if your son needs more info. or confirmation from me, please freep-mail...
I agree with EGE
longjack, I hope your son will tabulate the results and let us know how he did on the paper.
Is the project about statistics? or the BOR? or a student-choice topic calculated to rile up a liberal teacher?
When my son finishes up I'll have him post his results on this thread.
We extend to you Freepers our heartfelt graditude.

Done. Now it’s time to do some shopping online at Midway.
Done
Yeah, I put that too. I was thinking “I know LOTS of people that shouldn’t have a gun”
Done.
He said that the project is about constitutional amendments. His group decided that they would do a survey about gun rights to see the 2nd amendent still fits the needs of the populace
The kids in his group wrote the questions.
That, at least, is my translation from fluent Eighth Grader to Old Guy English.
I wouldn't say his school or teacher are liberal or conservative. McCain won the straw poll there with 72% in grades 5-12.

Check out Graf and Sons.
More than happy to help.
Done.
"That, at least, is my translation from fluent Eighth Grader to Old Guy English." I understand. ;D
Done.
The purpose of this survey was to see if the amendments that were written over 200 years ago are still accurate for our personal needs today.
Below are the results so you can see if your beliefs are similar or different to others.
Thank you all very much
longjack's son

I tried to bring up the survey but it says its closed - I guess he has enough responses ... not bad for a little over an hour from your initial post. Good ‘ol FReepers! ;-)
Congratulations to the teacher for allowing such a discussion in today’s pansy, liberal academia world.
A good youtube expalnation of the 2nd Admendment:

88 responses in total, not bad!
Anything to help with school work. Hope you get an A+ ;)
Can I have my automatic weapon now?
He is going to open it up again.

He was really discouraged. His eyes lit up when I told him to check the survey and he saw the count meter!
Thanks again, everyone.
Just a note: One reason that I answered “no” to “should everyone own a gun” is that I do not believe those who are seriously mentally ill or violent felons should be allowed to own one. On top of that, while everyone else should have the right to own a gun, the decision to do so is a personal one involving a lot of responsibility, so each person should make up their own mind. My bet is that most freepers believe similarly.
You were able to fill it up. Thank you all for your help. longjack
Sorry, cannot get past Q1-no valid answer.
“Everyone”, meaning everyone-even those prohibited by law (convictions of crimimal behavior (rape robbery murder arson etc) or every law-abiding citizen?
Big diff.
Sounds like a poorly differentiated question-leading and skewing. The survey needs more thought. Sorry. The left is “sophomoric” (without thought), not the right.
Babies should not have gun and they are someone. Also murderous felons and severly damaged mental patients should not own a gun. There are many adults who should not though they should have the right. So I also disagreed on Question 1.
The question on automatics was unclear whether he meant fully automatic or semi. Either way I think people should be able to own them.
Done. Why ask if everyone should own a gun? I know several who shouldn’t.
Already taken care of by the Fifth Amendment.
