I want to let everyone know now, that we have all the facts, why today seemed a bit, well, crazy...
At Team Sarah we are experiencing -- and, with your help, neutralizing -- an attempt to frame this community for harboring hate speech and bigotry: violations of our own Terms of Use and community standards. We have just found and documented a group of 90 invaders who are plotting to come here to post racist remarks and radical, over the top, content in an attempt to discredit us, to get you, our members, fighting each other, and to just make it difficult for us to function as a community. This is not suspicion. We have irrefutable evidence!
We know who these people are through technological traces of where they are coming from (called IP Addresses) and other means. We have the website owner's information from the website from whence this conspiracy to vandalize our community. We have lodged a protest. And we fight on!
This invasion was detected early on by TeamSarah member Kelley S, who is working with me to protect our community from such misconduct. We are taking many active measures to suppress the invasion. Thank you all for your excellent advice and support in defending TeamSarah. This discredits the Liberal attackers, not TeamSarah!

It is now apparent that the earlier attack on our reputation blogged at The Huffington Post was of the same nature: send in agents provocateurs to say awful things, frame us for violations of our own high standards, and treat them as "real" in order to discredit us. The smoking gun? One of the HuffPo's claims against us is identical to what one of the website's posters gloated about posting!
Just a few samples (we have 15 pages of documentation!) of the conspiracy in the conspirators' own words:
Brown Moses - The idea isn't to troll, but to agree with everyone saying insane poo poo to reinforce their belief they are the ones who are the true supporters of Sarah Palin, and those people who attempt any sort of moderation are evil Obama supporting turncoats who need to be purged. You'll get so much insane poo poo posted then trolling will be irrelevant. __ this is a pretty good point i am trying to get them to admit to/feel more comfortable with using white nationalist rhetoric ___ Brown Moses -If Hillaryis44 is anything to go by the posters will eventually think they've pratically got direct contact with the Palin campaign thanks to the website, and anything they post will be considered by the campaign in a serious way.
With your help we are getting the situation under control. We are working, around the clock sometimes, to exclude potential invaders and to expel those who have sneaked past our defenses. The Invaders tactics resemble the arsonists who put the torch to Gov. Palin's church. They will fail, and fail in shame. TeamSarah is stronger, and more dignified, and together we are repelling these attacks.

Action was taken decisively, the miscreants fled, but the TS member who outed them asked for his warning at RedState to be promulgated, so am posting it here. The actual text above is from the TS site, and you have to be logged-in to see it though it's front page (not special admin or covert), but the Red State link has more info and examples of then inanity trolls have tried to pull.
Sharing this because the moderator asked folks to chip in, and also to show the ludicrous depths to which the opposition has sunk. FYI, they're not very good at it either, clearly products of modern public schools.
These geniuses (genii) were uncovered by a simple Google search, and from what we read on their site before they abashedly took it down, it's mostly kids from "Anonymous" (a lame cover for www.4chan.org) and www.somethingawful.com, though there is some theorizing that other more "reputable" political sites were involved.
Like the mod posted above, this isn't to freak people out, it's more for us to retain focus, and hopefully take heart at the ridiculous lengths the Libs are taking at the very cusp of their "victory". If they're this desperate now, I look forward to seeing their lame-duck antics, though probably most of them will have graduated and had to get a real job by then...
(P.S.: also this is a good reminder that TeamSarah.org is up to some 65,000 members, and can maybe get all 100,000 of the goal by "Day 0" if you join up today!)

Team Sarah is a great site that I read weekly. Yes, trolls are easy to detect and to delete.
This stuff has been going on for as long as I can remember here at Free Republic. The so-called “Freeper” responsible for posting the personal information of Mia Lawrence, the manager of Chuy’s Restaurant in Dallas who called 911 on Jenna Bush for ordering a marguerita, was named WyldCard. Within minutes, somebody at Democratic Underground was bragging about it.
They’re called “Agents Provocateurs.” They come over here to post garbage that makes Freepers look stupid or evil, and preferably both. Of course, getting the mainstream media to realize this is completely futile. They’d rather portray all conservatives as a bunch of bigoted Neanderthals; anything supporting that hypothesis is repeated everywhere and often, while anything refuting it is ignored.
The libs like the Moby tactics again. A well used play from their commie playbooks. Take note that we can’t generally do the same thing to them, since they already say and believe some of the most insane, hateful stuff and are quite proud of it. However, they have won the perception war of painting our side as the hatemongers and bigots. Scum.
I wish they’d do the same here on FR.
I’ve got a sneaking hunch that it’s not just about propaganda to keep the nutroots in line. I think that if they can float enough crap, they figure that they will polarize Obama. Right now, I don’t think that he knows which direction his administration is gonna go. That’s probably why he has that questions site. If the nutroots folks can float enough BS, maybe they’re figuring that it will percolate upwards and polarize Obama and his Staff to the point that they’re living in the same fantasy land that Clinton lived in for eight years.
I suspect that they’ll spread out from Sarah Palin’s site if they can make it work there.

If people join, does it have to be kumbiya all day long or do you have a fair discussion about positives and negatives on Sarah? I know that when FREEPERS gets behind a candidate all debate is out the window.
In your opinion, a troll is someone who debates. You should allow for healthy debate and not the “I love Sarah” folks only. Of course it is your site but you are doing a disservice to her if you can’t see all sides. You should worry more about getting her elected instead of having her a rock star.

It's not necessarily secret, but you need to be logged-in to open the article and see the end. So I cut-n-pasted it here. And that article itself directs you to a wider article on Red State, which anyone can access/comment on.

I’m a TS member, and I’m not surprised. I’m betting that the 90 “individuals” are probably only 30 or so having joined up using different email addresses, and using different screen names. The left is very good at magnifying their numbers through smoke and mirrors.

***I have no information on that. I don’t know how many of us freepers have quietly reported abuse and gotten no action. I do know that we have openly tried it and gotten a thread pulled. If I had confidence in the process I would follow it.
Here’s a ferinstance. I saw keyword abuse on the certifigate threads, reported it and the admin mod zotted the troll “searchin”. Then a while later I saw some more keyword abuse, reported it and whoever was on admin mod duty at the time basically said they were not going to do anything about it. I cc’d JimRob and the admin mod said, “whatever floats your boat”. The keyword abuse continued.
Well, I just know the Mods have a huge job to do, and no two people see things in exactly the same way, so we should expect there to be some difference in the decisions they make.
Whatever the case, I would still be concerned about innocent people being reported on a public thread created to OUT the trolls.

***All we need is a basic minimum standard. Ferinstance, I had a long post removed because there were 2 words that were “naughty” according to the admin mod: bull shiite and a$$#0/e. But I’ve seen much, much worse continue to pass under their noses. So if the mods are going to hang their hat on this, they need to hang their hat. The reality of the situation is that the mods have a lot of capricious leeway and they use it on posters and subjects on which they intend to affect discourse. But if there was a minimum standard POSTED, where a dutiful freeper could go and see, “oh, I can’t use bull shiite but I can use bull feces” then the mods would have an easier job and they wouldn’t lose the confidence of dutiful freepers who notice their capriciousness. Yes, I know they have a difficult job to do but they are acting like Moses before his father in law set him straight.
