An ancient female skeleton discovered along the Tuul River, some 55 kilometers outside Ulaanbaatar, may be more remarkable for when she lived rather than who she was. After examining earrings and rings discovered amongst the remains, Kh. Lkhagvasuren, an archaeologist who heads the Mongolian Historical and Cultural Heritage Center, said this week that the woman was likely a contemporary of Chinggis Khaan... While an examination of the skeleton -- specifically the skull and waist -- revealed that it belonged to a teenage female, not much else is known about the young woman's life. The body was buried in a wooden coffin -- thought in some circles to be a common Mongol practice at the time -- and the trinkets found with it suggest the woman was neither wealthy nor powerful in life. While it would be too much to assume the woman had direct contact with Chinggis Khaan himself, it might not be a stretch to imagine that she knew his one-time patron and later rival Ong Khan. Ong Khan, known as Wang Khan in Chinese History, made his fall camp in the area where Lkhagvasuren and his students -- the archaeologist is also President of Chinggis Khaan University -- discovered the young woman's skeleton on a crisp October day.

Was John Kerry present?
When did “they” change the spelling of Genghis Khan’s name?
She called her husband “Hun”. (Or “Hunny-bunny”.)
I miss Bombay.
Chinggis Khaan... ??
A horde of names for the guy, aint it?
In 1971, Kerry shocked many Americans ... when he testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about alleged atrocities that went far beyond My Lai.
A decorated combat veteran, Kerry ... told the Senate that soldiers “personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn.”
Don’t forget Peking.
You know, that place with all the ducks.
Life on the Klingon home world.
,,,,, similarly, what is wrong with using B.C. and A.D. ???
Only the really smart people spell it that way. We dumb Americans say Gengis!
The name Chinggis is how the Mongols pronounced it. The other variants, Jenghiz or Genghis, are Turkish/muslim terms and are not favored by Mongols.
Removal of BC and AD for CE (common era) is just another movement to remove the name of Christ. Never mind that the times are the same. Pathetic, huh?
It’s like using Holiday instead of Christmas. Holiday = Holy Day. Which Holy Day? Christmas, of course.
They can whitewash all they want but it doesn’t remove the truth.
Similar to that old Dylan song — “In the chingle changle morning I’ll khaan following you...”
