I wonder if Obama filled the Education Secretary position yet.

But Saint Nickolas did exist - and he was quite an inspiration to all who knew him...

'It's your parents who leave out presents on Christmas Day.' In America, the teacher would be fired for saying "Christmas."

What he should have said it isn’t Santa Claus that brings all the presents, it’s Obama.

Santa is real in the same way that Uncle Sam is real. Each is a personification of an idea. Uncle Sam is the Spirit of America personified; Santa Claus is the Spirit of Christmas personified.
Saying that Santa Claus isn’t real is just as untrue as saying that Uncle Sam isn’t real. As long as America exists and Christmas is celebrated, they will remain real indeed.

Good. The teacher deserved it.

Wonder what would have happened to the teacher is she would have said that Jesus does not exist?

Huh? My seven year old doesn’t and neither does my 10 year old ~ though I susspect he has some ideas.
Kids got the whole rest of their lives to be worldly. Let ‘em have some fun! And while we’re at it, let me get a little chuckle out of playing the fat man!

At least two teachers have instructed my children that anthropogenic, catastrophic, global warming is real.
I complained.
The teachers are still there.

I really like the way you put that. I agree 100%.

And what would have happened if she had said God didn’t exist?

I got dragooned into teaching a Sunday School class for fifth and sixth graders one year. Being an idiot, I let it drop during the discussion that Santa Claus did not exist. I thought that was a pretty safe statement for 10-year-olds.
I was wrong. Oh boy! Was I wrong!
Didn’t get me out of teaching Sunday School, though...
