The chilling revelations of a recent television documentary1 expose the disturbing consequences of evolutionary ways of thinking. Beginning in the 1920s, many thousands of people in the United States were sterilised against their will and without their consent, to prevent undesirable breeding. Over 8,000 of these procedures took place at a major centre to which such undesirables were sent, in Lynchburg, Virginia.

While the horrors of Germanys Nazi past are well known, it is a well-kept secret that similar programs were also prevalent in some Allied countries. The award-winning investigative journalist Edwin Black has documented Americas huge selective breeding and forced sterilization program in his book War Against the Weak: Eugenics and Americas Campaign to Create a Master Race.1

On May 2, 2002, Mark Warner of Virginia became the first governor to publicly apologize to the many thousands of people who were sterilized against their will during the eugenics movement in the United States. Through 1979, about 8,000 people in Virginia were prevented from being able to have children because they were considered to be unfit. [Ed. note: see Lies of Lynchburg for more information.]

ping!
The evolosers are gonna come unglued.
No. Just laugh. You people get sillier and sillier.
That’s like saying Louis Pastuer’s work inspired Dr. Mengele.
Anti-intellectualism at its worst.
Recounting the involuntary sterilization of undesirables in a free and democratic society causes knee slapping merriment where you live?
Nice little liberal trick you picked up there.
Its becoming increasingly clear that creationists have no science to back up their positions, and have to resort to character assassination in their fruitless battle against the theory of evolution.
What a joke!
No. What causes knee slappnig merriment where I live is the “cretative” extent to which anti-evolutionists will go in an effort to inflate their flawed views of the Bible and science.
What a maroon, no better than a retarded democrat.
Yep!
So far, the only thing they can manage to do is whine and complain!
Creation Science is obviously the nonproductive branch of science, as well as the non-experiment doing branch of science. Oh wait, they are also the non-science branch of science.
Why are you bringing up Creation Science?
This thread is about Evolutions ties to eugenics and the Nazis.
Try to get with the program.
The only source offered as proof is:
The Lynchburg Story, produced by Bruce Eadie, made by Worldview Pictures in association with Discovery Networks and Channel Four, 1993. This story is based on information contained therein.
When I do an ask.com search for "Worldview Pictures," I get nothing. Well, unless ya'll are really referring to this.
Doing a search for "Discovery Networks and Channel Four" on ask.com only leads to the Discovery Channel (the legitimate tv channel) and a link to the University of Vermont's record of having a copy of this documentary, and, of course, a link back to the article about the documentary.
There's nothing at youtube about a "Lies in Lynchburg."
You don't even have a copy of this 15 year-old documentary to link to so that people can judge its merits. And that's the only source? No historical articles? Nothing?
If you go to a library and look at encyclopedias from the late 1920’s and early 1930’s you might not be so sure. Under the topic “Eugenics” there are sometimes references to Darwinists (not Darwin himself) that are in support of helping evolution by removing undesirables and preventing their births. It might not have been directly connected to the nazis. It might have just been a general world view at the time.
These guys are getting desperate. They’ve been predicting the end of the evolution science for 150 years. The fact that the evidence from biology, paleontology, physics, geology, chemistry and a host of other disciplines just keeps piling up in embarrasingly large piles must be sending them over the edge.
The ToE is now just about unassailable. It would take a stunning piece of hard evidence to even begin to knock it off it’s pedestal and, let’s face it, hard evidence is something the creationists are right out of.
When I look at this logo for the Discovery Channel (the legitimate tv channel), titled Discovery Networks International, I'd suspect that your buds are guilty of trademark infringement. I'm emailing the legitimate Discovery right now so they can look into whether they should sue your friends.
Have a nice night. ;)

When the Dinosaur Museum guys get into my wallet with their first government grant, start getting tenure at our re-education campuses or such, I may decide to worry about them.
Until then I can’t think of any justification to resent their honest beliefs, certainly not to the point of defending true wrongs that may they may dare bring up.
only in an evolved society such as ours do we encourage let alone allow women by the millions to have children(and a goodly percentage of them children/young teens having children) that have absolutely NO business having children(illegal aliens/ignorant/unemployed/unemployable)/(and in many cases they should have the children they have taken away) all with the blessing of the federal government, while at the same time as the "lower classes" are breeding like rats the "intelligentsia" are aborting their own children at record numbers... Nature has been turned upside down to the point where the strong are the only thing keeping the weak alive and committing suicide in the process.
go figure
I hope that was satire...
Throw a stone over the fence and the dog that yelps is the one that got hit.
They sure did judging by the responses.
You don’t say...
I gotta get me more stones!
Yes, eugenics is sooo intellectual.
No, Pasteur was Christian, and put no stock in evoism.
Discovery Institute had the name first by a long shot.
You libs are always late.
It never had a beginning; evolutionism was the death of science.
“What a joke!”
You need to spend less time posing in front of the mirror.
All they can do is hijack the the thread and change the subject. Classic evo manuvering.
This was only a Teletubby class hijacking...
You libs are always late.
I wasn't questioning whether the word "Discovery" was taken, but whether "Discovery Networks" was.
I don't know who had dibs on "Discovery Networks," but judging from their wikis, the Discovery Channel was launched in 1985 and the Discovery Institute was formed in 1994. "Discovery Networks" re-directs to "Discovery Channel.")
It's in the hands of the Discovery Networks' legal department now, so they can figure out what, if anything, to do.
So, to repeat, you've offered no proof to back up the claims of this article. All you've done is call me a "lib."
Of Science
We can’t have the truth getting out, now can we...
Better call in the activist judges and suppress the facts!
This from the side constantly making comparisons between creation scientists and militant Islam.
Liberals simply can not deal with their own tactics.

Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment
Obama: If they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby.
The greatest of apes keep saying it’s evidence. Evolution makes giant leaps of faith and then calls it evidence.
Basically it comes down to ideology affecting the way one interprets data and nothing more.
Better call in the activist judges and suppress the facts!
What "truth" and "facts" are you talking about? You still haven't offered up a single shred of proof to back up the assertions made by this article.

"EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed" produced by and starring Ben Stein
Ben blows the horn on Suppression by academia. He thoroughly documents how schools will not tolerate anything that questions the theory of evolution and how the intelligent design theory is looked down upon as a joke. He also documents the evolutionists ties to the Nazis and travels through Europe and to Nazi Concentration Camps in his search for the truth.
I highly recommend this film!

Me thinketh thee protesteth to much!
I post two comments to your 13 and I am protesting too much?
At least my comments are not personal attacks, as has become the norm of late for creationists.
Aww quit yer whining.
They're fairly frothing at the mouth; mortally wounded. - It's time to give evolutionism a decent burial!
