Now is the time for all men and women of goodwill to commit to praying for the president elect. God is still in control. Maybe he has humbled us. Maybe he has decided that we are too proud, too selfish, too...whatever.
Yes, it's going to be hard, but this is a good test of our character. Will we respond with hatred, bitterness, and despair, or with the eternal hope that our God is in control?
We have a choice. If you don't think that God can use a man like Obama, then your God is much too small. Remember - God's timetable, not ours.
I hope to see prayers for Obama's safety. His children don't deserve to lose their father.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is a time to applaud his accomplishment...it is historic. Policy disputes will come later, but I for one will pray for his safety this night.

I will pray he governs from the Center and that he will restrain the most radical of the Democrats.
I will pray that he exercises sound judgment in every decision he makes, domestic and foreign.

You’re absolutely right. My prayers are with him, as scared as I am. But perhaps it’s selfish of me; praying for him makes me feel less afraid.

The only prayer I will say for him is that God changes his heart. But to pray for him would be to imply I am praying for his policies and views to become law of this land. And that I will never do. I do not pray harm upon the man. But I will not pray for a man who has made war against the preborn one of his top priorities. God would never forgive me that.

Barack Obama claimed to be a Christian, although in a 2004 interview, he came off more as a secular humanist. He did not see Jesus to be the only way to salvation. He saw redemption in the different faiths of the world. He finds sin to be whatever goes against his value system. May he have a spiritual awakening as he sits in the leadership role of this great nation, established by men who sought to LIMIT the powers of government, and preserve the personal liberties of men.
I WANT Barack Obama to be spiritually awakened, and not look down on those who “cling to religion”. I want him to be humbled in the realization of something greater than himself or the institutions of man. There is no charity in forced taxation. For you to give to your fellow man in assistance should be a personal decision, one that you come to by free choice.
I pray that we DON'T experience a second “Carter” administration. I pray that Our Father shows us mercy. And if it leads some to be more humble and respectful (as we did in the aftermath of the 9-11), then there is a positive aspect to this election.
