I have a darned interesting idea.
(I know -- "Who doesn't?")
bookmark for later :-}
Anyone who works for Mother Jones, Rolling Stone, or any of those other rags for starters.
LOL, good luck with this. I know extremely talented writers who have spent years trying to get a good agent. Getting a good agent is almost as hard as getting published.
The odds of becoming a successful author with a major publisher are about the same as the odds of becoming a rock star. No, I have no scientific data to back this up, only many years of being a part of the writer community. A tiny few do get lucky, but for the overwhelming majority of writers, it’s a TOUGH road.

Good point!
I’ve had pretty good luck with my writing over the years, but never had an agent — only grouchy editors and publishers!
This is definitely a “go-the-agent-route” idea though.
Do you want me to put you in touch with Mary Matalin? She has been beating down my doors, as publisher of a conservative Simon & Shuster imprint, to sign me to a contract for a DUmmie FUnnies book (with CD-ROM imprint).
Ha haaaaa! Sure, PJ!
Have a great weekend! :-)
(Actually, this is a really nifty book idea with that thing publishers (and writers) value most — simplicity!)
