How is long-term socialism not really coming to the U.S. soon?

After seeing John McCain not "hit it out of the park" during the second debate between McCain and Barack Obama, how is long-term socialism not really coming to the U.S. soon? A possible Barack Obama Presidency along with a probable "dominant leftist majority" of both Democrats and Republicans in Congress in both the House and Senate will truly destroy the entire U.S. as a country! The eventual full implementation of the Fairness Doctrine along with the eventual full implementation of amnesty for illegal immigrants (Both McCain and Obama are really for amnesty for illegal immigrants! Arrgh!), which will also include legally allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote in all future U.S. elections, will also help to kill off "U.S. conservatism" forever! Both "maverick", "socialistic" McCain and "Marxist" Obama are not conservatives anyways! What are conservatives supposed to successfully do next, if the "political worse case scenario" does really happen against all of "U.S. conservatism", and both the Fairness Doctrine is fully implemented as well as illegals throughout the U.S. are also really being allowed to legally vote in all future U.S. elections?

Frankly I am not sure he even made it to the park, much less get a hit.

Take care of ourselves and our families, and when it gets too unbearable, leave for a freer land.

The problem that most socialist nations face is a brain drain and a loss in work ethic. Sooner or later, not being rewarded for your efforts and talents gets old. The key is to get out before they start building walls to keep you in.

The Presidency of one Barack Hussein Obama.

With The Patriot Act of George W. Bush at his fingertips.

Interesting days, weeks and years ahead for conservatives and patriots.

Stock up, folks.

We start a new country. Let the libs have everything west of the Rockies and east of the Appalachians.

Start over with the US constitution as it was in 1787.

i’m very disappointed in the finance community.

you’d think that there would be more integrity.

yes, i know all about fanny and freddy and jim johnson, franklin raines, barney frank, jamie gorelick, etc.

if obamao’s elected, then we’re in for cycle 4 of progressivism.

1 was woodrow wilson

2 was fdr

3 was lbj

McCain did not have to hit it ‘out of the park’. The polls are already moving in his direction in recent days. He just has to get the people back focused. The economic movement was a ‘Democrat’ bounce not unlike the 6 point swing McCain got after his convention. It disrupted McCain’s campaign narrative badly. There is still time. Support is strong for both sides, Obama probably has a small lead now, but so did Kerry in 2004. Bush has a lead in 2000 and it closed in the final week.

The ‘hit of the park’ requirement for McCain tonight was just conventional media wisdom. The same people that said Giuliani and Hillary would be the ones debating this fall.

All socialism is long term. Name one country that, after the establishment of socialism, went back to a capitalist society. Once government has seized all power it will never relinquish it or return it to the people.

There will in fact be a TREMENDOUS brain drain out of the USA in my opinion, of skilled/smart hard working people and tax refugees I predict, people making over $70,000 or $100,000 as a couple, trying to get out of the United States going Socialist. 20 Million Illegals will already have been amnestied, citizen-ized, registered to vote and Democrat Party-ized....and many of them bought off by putting the on the federal and state dole...the Democrat Iron Rule will be complete with these massive vote banks.

But the Obama IRS will track such brain-drainers down to the four corners of the earth, the Democrat Congress will make severe penalties for trying to escape the Socialist States of America--they have already starting putting up those Economic Berlin Walls in the Congress in the last few months--it will get worse under Obama.

$300 billion to just forgive mortgage debt has to rank among dumbest, most socialistic ideas of all time. Even Obama wouldn’t dare to propose that.

Last week’s bailout bill was just to invest in mortgage debt (hopefully at a profit for the government, eventually). Not to buy it and forgive it. Big difference.

Like I said elsewhere, I should call up Chase Mortgage and let them know that McCain will be reducing my principal balance by 20% once he is elected. Of course I won’t be able to pay other 80% as my taxes will be through the roof to pay off mortgages of all the illegal immigrants with subprime mortgages, etc.

He was a RINO to begin with, and many on FR knew that in the primaries of 2000. The one good period I will credit him for is right after 9-11...a relatively steady hand. But on so many other issues, man, what a disappointment!

If McCain stepped down, and Palin went to the top of the ticket?

She could name either Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter as her running mate and *still* waltz to a landslide.

(Although I think she'd pick Fred Thompson or Duncan Hunter -- in which case they could close out by saying "We heard you America, we're building the wall" and they might even pick off D.C. in addition to all 50 states.)

Cheers!

Simple... learn Spanish and start educating them with traditional American values. They should know better than most fat cat liberals looking for handouts that Government really isn’t the solution. Don’t forget they are immigrating from a government that is not exactly democratic.

The liberals are literally importing these illegals and playing to their weaknesses... more handouts.
What we should do is play to their strengths and teach them how to access the American Dream. As a result, they will have more wealth than they ever dreamed possible instead of handouts, and we will have a new ally.

Yeah, it appears to be coming big time. Part of it has already arrived. When nearly fifty per cent of your wage earners don’t pay taxes (parasites) you’re in for big trouble. Obama panders to the most abjectly servile group of nonentities that have ever lived and believe me they’ll be voting in record numbers. I’m afraid we’ll be gazing into the abyss shortly.

I don’t know either. It has been a disappointment. In particular the time when we controlled both congress and the White House and saw spending get even more out of control was disheartening. As was amnesty and No Child. The party is no longer a conservative party. There are conservative elected officials but the top folks such as McCain and Bush are not conservatives.

Name one country that, after the establishment of socialism, went back to a capitalist society.

China. Remember, capitalism is an economic system and doesn't automatically create freedom and democracy. The U.S. thrived originally because it was a happy combination of Constitutional freedom with a capitalist economy.

But capitalism can flourish under central control too. Hitler's Germany was essentially a capitalist form of socialism. The real enemy in any type of government is totalitarianism. The U.S. has been increasingly socialistic since FDR in the 1930s. It has become increasingly totalitarian since the 1970s as self-perpetuation of government power has removed real control from the people.

When Obama's through manipulating our laws with a Democrat/socialist Congress and his Supreme Court appointments, he may well become the first American dictator. Of course the media will call him "Savior" or "Messiah" instead of "Fuhrer."
