John Zogby makes a good point. Obama has yet to really secure his support. Too many questions out there. Who is this guy? This does not bode well in the voting booth. Zogby states this may translate into a landslide for McCain. People tend to vote with conviction, not as a random act so this seems very reasonable analysis to me.
And I still don't trust polls, even when they have 'good news.' They have this way of pulling a Lucy/Charlie Brown trick later on.
Don’t know if any of these results were posted yet. The search feature is down again. Thanks JimRob for all the hard work. Every four years it just gets more and more demanding than ever before.
LOL !!! I remember when Zogby was the scourge around here - now he’s the gold standard !!! (but I’ll take those numbers )
Ignore all polls.
The only poll that matters is November 4th.
GET. OUT. THE. VOTE!!!!
Volunteer for your conservative candidates for their GOTV effort TODAY!
Obama is having a cow over the NRA ads that are hitting PA. Coupled with the ‘bitter, bible, and guns’ comment.... cause and effect?
Colorado is way too close. That concerns me.
A 10 point lead in FL????
Not sure I believe that poll.
This may relieve some of my bitterness. I’ll still be clingy, though.
The MSM is cooking polls with incorrect political party and race weighting.
BREAKING MSNBC CNN>>>> Oberman Mathews and Blitzer admitted to hospital suffering from apparent wounds to the forehead...Reported by nurse to be caused by head banging on walls.
This is more “all over the place” than was 2004.
If you go to Realclearpolitics.com the polls all show Obama up. Although it showed the Big O leading in NC, and I CAN’T believe that.
Well...don’t know if this poll is accurate, but I live in south central PA (just over the MD line), and I see FAR more McCain yard signs than Obama signs in my area. I’m talking probably a 10 to 1 ratio.
Pollsters have a vested interest in keeping the polls as close as possible to do more polls and keep the interest of the people going to do more polls.
So, Zogby has been in the Dems pocket for at least the last 2 Presidential elections.
He was the furthest out with the Dems ahead.
Could it be that in order to gain market share against competitors, he will be the first one to predict a McCain victory, that he decides to go with perhaps a more realistic assessment of the empty suit running for president?
This would make him more money next year and in the future.
On Fox the other night, Marc Lamont Hill said if Obama isn’t leading by 6-7% in the polls, he’ll lose the election.
WOW! Looks like ROPE-A-DOPE is working!
What’s the deal with Zogby? His numbers are too favorable for McCain at the moment.
Its always useful to remember that we have all seen the “Zogby Special Sauce” since about the ‘92 election. This guys polls always seem to mirror what his agenda of the day seems to be. Not exactly sure what he is up to here, but I’m opening a very large can of skepticism.
The only thing we can infer from polls this year is that the polling is nowhere near a science and pollsters are losing hair in prodigious amounts.
But if some folks are going to take Marist and some other Obama-friendly polls seriously, then we should include these as well. :-)
I think I do. Florida has been rather consistent ever since Secretary of State Harris removed 40,000 Snowbirds off the voting rolls. It might explain why Alcee Hastings went nutty today making his inflammatory race card statement. They ain't gonna win Florida.
McCain behind. "Booo! Zogby stinks!"
I kid, I kid :)
I don’t know - Sean usually has him on most everyday = but I missed it today ...
Someone will swoop in with that one Rasmussen NC outlier obviously exacerbated by gas shortages and declare all the good news null and void. If they haven’t already above this comment.
Anyone privy to the internals? Is he picking up more Rs than the other pollsters?
He’s one of the few that has McCain up in PA and CO at the moment.
Yeah, it's great to hear the shrieks, ain't it? ROTFL!!!
And I’m in Bucks County, PA, the notoriously “purple” Philly suburb. I also see McCain signs at at 10-1 ratio over Obama. Funny thing is, I see Murphy (1-term incumbent Dem from 8th District) signs everywhere, but no Obama signs next to them. I saw the same thing at the McCain rally in Media (about an hour west of here) - Dem congressional race signs everywhere, but no Obama signs. Are the local Dems distancing themselves from Obama?
I guess he saw these numbers and started talking about the McCain landslide (another thread) before he released them.
I’m still on the landslide train and I’m not getting off.
I heard Rush say they are devistating. Would love to see one of them.
Rush is a Zogby guy as well.
Many of these are old. The PA number is from August. Click on the state and look at the bottom and it says when the poll was taken.
I agree...ACORN and the ChiTown Cons are only good for 4-5% in fraud.
We just rode up RT 11 on the way to Chambersburg and somebody had painted a huge NO BAMA-NATION on the side of his barn.
All McCain signs clear up til we hit Wilson College territory.
The [R] campaign booth at the Frederick fair in MD was handing out McCain signs like mad and the [D] booth had 3 people just sitting around staring into space.
[as per a forum post in the local paper]
Even if you completely disregard these Zogby polls, PA and CO are both very close and up for grabs.
I’m hearing the same thing from my friend in Buck County. Many more McCain/Palin signs.
Ignore the polls, heck, I’m going to print this off and recite it like the Bible if the walls start closing in.
Any sleeper trolls who have an account at DU should post this and the other Zogby article where he talks about the McCain landslide.
You know - this is an intersting observation...
I wish we had a thread dedicated to battleground states where freepers in those states could report all in one place what they’re seeing...
In the final week or two it ought to be real interesting... like a roller coaster ride probably.
sadly I thing VA is closer than this due to Northern VA. Not as many of us rednecks clinging to our guns as there used to be.
Zogby has been a bit goofy recently. Don’t really trust his numbers. Will wait for more verification from other quarters.

Thats very true. GOP always outperforms the polls in every election. I think it is because the people they are calling in the middle of the day are likely a bunch of slackers sitting around munching cheetos and watching Oprah.
Yep. He needs that kind of lead to compensate for the dreaded “Bradley effect”.
Ping.
Agreed. That PA and CO are close, but CO, at least, has been trending away from McCain lately. PA has always been within a few points.
It’s good to see McCain in the lead in both states, though.
Bye bye ‘bama bye bye
By an insignificant margin. It's still September. No worries.
