LOS ANGELES (AP) - David Duchovny has entered a rehabilitation facility for sex addiction. In a statement released Thursday by his lawyer, Stanton Stein, the actor said he did so voluntarily, adding: "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

The actor's publicist, Flo Grace, confirmed the rehab report, which first appeared on People.com.

True story: many, many years ago Alabama had a conservative *Democrat* Senator, Howell Hefflin. He and Teddy were often on other sides of issues, obviously, but when Senator Hefflin was shown photos of Teddy on his yacht violating a young intern, he laughed and gave a classic one-liner.

It’s a real show, on Showtime, and basically it’s on the edge of softcore porn. Lot of fun, but his character is a degenerate, drugged-up, drunken, foul-mouthed hedonist, and so are many of the other characters, so, uh, it’s not for everyone. :’)
