N Korea 'develops special noodle'

North Korean scientists have developed a new kind of noodle that delays feelings of hunger, a Japan-based pro-Pyongyang newspaper has reported.

The noodles were made from corn and soybeans, the Choson Shinbo said.

They left people feeling fuller longer and represented a technological breakthrough, the newspaper said.

North Korea is dependent on foreign food aid. Last month the UN warned that residents were experiencing their worst food shortages in a decade.

But the communist country remains reluctant to allow experts to fully assess the scale of the problem or give them adequate access to deliver aid.

UN warnings

According to the newspaper, which is seen as closely linked to the Pyongyang leadership, the new noodles have twice as much protein and fives times as much fat as ordinary noodles.

"When you consume ordinary noodles (made from wheat or corn), you may soon feel your stomach empty. But this soybean noodle delays such a feeling of hunger," it said on its website.

a new kind of noodle that delays feelings of hunger

I recall an episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies" in which Granny develops a cure for the common cold -- it's a magix elixir which one drinks and then -- in just one or two weeks -- the cold disappears!

A noodle, which after eating, introduces feelings of fullness and makes the patient less hungry. A miracle!!

Yeah, you are still a starving, hopeless wretch enslaved by the worst variety of totalitarian socialism but at least you won’t feel like your starving. Good show, mates.

The noodles were made from corn and soybeans, the Choson Shinbo said.

They left out the sawdust, dirt, and methamphetamine from the indgrediant list.

All the things a growing boy needs...

A food that delays hunger pangs would be useful if you’re trying to lose weight, something I doubt the North Koreans would need.

"Its a better world, a workers paradise, just over the horizon. No, you can't see it from here but its coming any day now."

It only took 70 years for the average Russian to finally give up. Or as they used to say: "We pretend to work, they pretend to pay us."

Yeah, but it should taste better than dirt and bark. At least Stalin, Castro and Mao just shot the dissidents to maintain control of the people. Kim Jung & Ilk are starving the entire population so nobody has the physical strength to protest or stage a coup.

I don’t blame NK, I have heard that those folks genes call for naturally small noodles to begin with. Oh, that’s not what you meant?

I sympathize with the people who are forced to live under such a cruel regime. But, I don’t feel sympathy for the gov’t of North Korea, which spends a disprortionate amount of it resources on the military and lets its people starve, due to their misplaced priorities.

So, is the illegal Pyongyang regime still telling the people it occupies that one meal a day makes them stronger?

The noodle is about 50 ft. long.

You swallow one end, every 1/2 hour you swallow a bit more of the noodle.
In approx. 24 hours you are able to attach the ends of the noodle together.

Then when you feel hungry you simply reach back and give a tug, similar to clearing a ‘wedgie’.
It tricks your stomach into thinking you just ate.
