Oh, you noticed the earrings too?

I mentioned it to my wife in disgust and she quoted Churchill to me. You know the quote...

Will Obama put his hand over his heart? Will Michelle feel proud of her country?

I give her a pass on this because of her youth and her representing the USA.

That morning Michelle Obama, 44 – sporting a tiny peace-sign pave diamond necklace – showed the same enthusiasm as she called Biden's wife, Jill, to welcome her to the campaign trail.

More here if you haven't had enough sugar this morning.

No “crowd shot” angles.

The liberal camera crews will avoid showing the Democratic crowds during the Pledge, however, as no hands would be over any hearts...

I just thought the same thing. Time for John and George to give Phelps a call.

Was she wearing them on the medal platform?

seems she is erasing her product endorsement viability by becoming a left wing wacko if that was intended as some political statement in an arena where people were stripped of medals [black pather salute] for pulling stunts.

(see also dixi chix and lipton)

Yep, those ear rings got my attention. Wondered if she had a clue what they meant. She wore them in the closing ceremonies but they were less visible because the hair was down.

I read that they want to show the country that they’re patriotic too.

So they’re backtracking as usual, because they’re on record as saying that wearing of a flag pin, saying the Pledge of Allegiance, singing The National Anthem, etc., aren’t indications of whether or not someone is patriotic.

It won’t happen, but I would love to see them stick to their guns and refuse to allow tradition and symbols to represent their patriotism!

She’s 16 and silly, and she’s in a “system” the people are constantly moaning “if only the government would give us more money”.

Give her a few years. Better yet, let her finally earn some money. After she’s paid too many taxes from her earnings, that’s when they start to put the peace earrings down.

I remember years! ago when I was in high school, during the Vietnam war. EVERYONE was a liberal, including the teachers.

The weekly reader had a test in it, are you a liberal or a conservative? We took it, and we had ONE conservative in the class, and it wasn't me. (But everyone thought it was, because I was a Christian).

So I took it home and gave it to my Mom. She gave all the opposite answers, and explained to me why. It was my first understanding of why conservatism makes sense.

It was also one of my inclining factors to homeschool. I realized that empty knowledge without good guidance doesn't necessarily lead to wisdom.

I only learned from the survey when my Mom sat down and explained to me why we should reject “rich corporations should be forced to give more money to starving people”.

She didn’t bother to sing along with the national anthem in Beijing, so why bother with the pledge in Denver?
