American Queen to stop in La Crosse tonight

The public is invited to help the La Crosse Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, city of La Crosse, La Crosse County Historical Society and the Sons of Norway as they welcome passengers and crew members Monday. Clogjammers will entertain from noon to 1 p.m. Monday.

“When the boat comes in after dark, it is aglow and is very beautiful,” said Clarissa Bates, the bureau’s director of development. The steamboat, which will turn around in the channel before it docks and again before it leaves, is on a cruise from St. Paul to St. Louis.

She looks like a wonderful vacation!

Been wanting to cruise for many years.

Sure hopes that she makes it through all the gonvermental bullshit regarding a wooden vessel meeting modern codes, as I’d love to hear her whistle aboard, as a retiree next year on the Mississipi.
